I am planning to install the NEST Learning Thermostat in my living room that is heated via a radiant floor. The upstair floors are heated through hot water radiators that have clearly a shorter time response than the radiant floor in the living room. I am not sure how to equalise temperature in the house and which target temperature to specify in the NEST thermostat. Also, I am not sure which kind of heating system settings shall I select on the NEST thermostat (floor heating or radiator).

Anyone having a similar configuration? Any suggestion to get a comfortable uniform temperature in the house?

Thank you in advance

Luca

Hello,

I just wanted to tell you I have a similar situation. Floor heating downstairs with a backup radiator and radiators upstairs. I use one circuit for the floor heating witch operates at a lower temperature and a second circuit that runs the radiator circuit on a higher temperature.

I installed the Nest to a Junckers system that is not compatible with OpenTherm out of the box. I used a converter so Nest could 'talk' to EMS, the Junckers proprietary OpenTherm framework.

I'm still figuring out how to configure the Nest/Junckers unit as I only have working radiators. No matter how I configure the Nest (radiator or floor heating), it's only the radiators that heat up (even on floor heating they work).

I will continue to 'scan' the www on this topic but I wanted to inform you in case you could benefit from my experience.

Good luck with your project, kind regards;

Edouard

As this is first and foremost a Dutch forum and you are reacting to an almost ancient post, I will close this discussion.
