My X5 N600 router is set up for 2.4 Ghz on ch 4. I am the only one using this channel in the area. The router is serving multiple devices including TV, TV decoder (wired), mobile telephones/tablets and laptops. All was well until I took the ill-fated step to upgrade to Windows 10 on both laptops. The problem is with the laptop wifi and/or ethernet connection. Since upgrading to windows 10 Home, on both laptops the wifi link drops very regularly sometimes within 15 seconds after connecting, in other words unusable. :( When I say drops, the actual connection disappears, the mobiles also show a disconnection when the laptops drop. It seems like the laptop is causing the drop and the mobiles suffer the consequences. I have gone through a great number of the fixes for windows 10 wifi problems on different forums on internet without success. All drivers and firmware/software is up to date. I have even disabled all other devices (including physically removing the ethernet cable from the router) and only tried to connect with one laptop - same drop problem. With the laptops turned off, the wifi connection is good on all other devices, I can even stream video from the internet (Netflix) without any problems. I ran previously windows 8.1 on one laptop and windows 7 on the other without any wifi or ethernet problems. The router has the latest available firmare. This firmare is from early in 2015 which makes me wonder if it is compatible with windows 10 ?? A wired connection from router to laptop gives the same result - the connection drops.
I am now logged into the neighbours' wifi connection. I have been on this network for almost 3 hours and the connection is stable, not one single drop. :)
I have sent this to Sitecom as well in the hope that I get a response.
Anyway, unless this router is not suitable and can't be upgraded for windows 10 (I hope not!!) I am out of ideas.
Is anybody having (or had) similar problems, and maybe already discovered a solution?
