BBG advies opgevolgd maar games crashen

[lhkuijmk4]

Help! Mijn gamepc, samengesteld met behulp van de BBG van juli jl, stopt spellen die ik eindelijk had gehoopt te kunnen spelen! Bij zowel Total War: Atilla, Company of Heroes 2 en Hearts of Iron 4 gebeurt het zelfde: CTD met ' een foutmelding'.

Met deze hardware moet ik alles makkelijk kunnen draaien. Is er alsjeblieft iemand die ziet wat er mis is/wat ik kan doen?

Wel eerst en vooral, een 32 bit kan maar maximaal 4GB ram ondersteunen. Jij hebt meer, dus moet je 64bit hebben.

Bovendien ook eens checken of je Bios wel windows 7 kan ondersteunen? Op mijn Mobo is dat bv niet out-of-the-box.;

32-bit is niet meer van deze tijd. Het gaat je niet lukken om bijna alle nieuwe games te draaien op 32-bit. Dit betekent namelijk dat je computer maar 1,5 gb ram kan zien. 32-bit kom je tegenwoordig weinig/niet tegen.

32-bit is niet meer van deze tijd. Het gaat je niet lukken om bijna alle nieuwe games te draaien op 32-bit. Dit betekent namelijk dat je computer maar 1,5 gb ram kan zien. 32-bit kom je tegenwoordig weinig/niet tegen.

Als je de legale Windows hebt, maakt het niet uit, je koopt geen licentie voor een bepaalde bit-versie, dus dan heb je hem al.

Ik heb tevens de boel in je openingspost in een quote gezet zodat er geen enorme lap tekst ontstaat.

Lijkt me niet dat je direct CTD's krijg bij 3,5Gb RAM? Heb je wel e.e.a.antistatisch(ESD) veilig in elkaar gezet?

Voordat je straks onnodig een dure licentie op een kapotte computer activeert, loont het wellicht om eerst even na te gaan of de 4GB RAM Barrier wel jouw probleem is. Dat kan je bijvoorbeeld doen door het overtollige RAM in je BIOS uit te schakelen of even het RAM uit je mobo te halen en opnieuw te testen. Zou toch zonde zijn als het onnodig geld kost.

Elke individuele applicatie op een 32-bit windows-systeem (zonder eigen ondersteuning voor PAE, AWE en/of 4GT - en zelfs dan zit je nog aan een aantal significante beperkingen vast) kan max. 2GiB RAM gebruiken. Dat het OS max 4GiB kan adresseren leidde er in de 32bit-tijd toe dat je zo'n 3,5GiB aan RAM kon gebruiken - de resterende adresruimte bevatte (DMA) adressering voor peripherals.
Het grappige is dat veel moderne desktophardware, die er ****ECHT**** niet meer op gebouwd is met 32bit OSes gebruikt te worden, kennelijk (vaak) véél meer adresruimte voor peripherals gebruikt. Totaal geen issue met een 64bit OS (was het 18,5 ExaByte aan beschikbare adresruimte? zoiets idioots iig ), maar met een wat 32bit OS kun je wel eens <2GiB aan beschikbaar werkgeheugen overhouden.
Zo ook TS: "Available OS Memory: 2146MB RAM". Oke, bijna dan. Hij blijft iets boven de 2GiB steken, maar toch weer een leuk eigenaardigheidje om op te merken, als je weet waar op te letten.


En serieus: of dit nu de issue is of niet, die 64bit licentie is toch wel nodig. Ik heb vanmiddag voor m'n broertjes twee Atom-laptopjes á <€250 met meer beschikbaar werkgeheugen dan dit afgeleverd. Bloedmooie speeltjes daar niet van, maar ik denk dat TS toch wel íets meer performance dan dat wil hebben

@TS: pak nou maar gewoon win10, het is echt wéér een vooruitgang in performance en mocht de pre-win8 interface je ding zijn (yuck, maargoed) zet win10 zowaar weer wat stapjes in die richting, in het dagelijks gebruik. Nu nog win8 kopen zou de verkeerde keuze zijn. Gewoon fijn win10 home

Je kunt ook gewoon de windows 7 licentie in windows 10 gebruiken.

Je zou Windows 10 kunnen downloaden en kijken of het probleem dan verholpen is. Licentie is niet nodig in de trial period.

Werkt nog steeds, wel via een omweg...

En mocht je een Windows 10 licentie willen halen dan kan ik je bevestigen dat een licentie van €32 ook gewoon goed werkt. pricewatch: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro NL 64bit OEM

Je hebt dan alleen niet meer dan een mailtje met een licence key maar het downloaden van een ISO lijkt me geen issue.
