Groupshield voor Exchange verwijderen

Heeft er iemand de procedure voor het totaal verwijderen van Mcafee Groupshield voor Exchange 5.5, versie 4.03. Ik weet dat bij Mcafeeb2b een volledige procedure staat beschreven, maar ik heb geen grant number om dit document op te halen.

Aangezien de procedure redelijk gecompliceerd is (veel risocovolle raw mode Exchange administrator acties ) en ik in een productie omgeving zit te werken met dik 300 intensieve gebruikers ga ik liever niet zelf experimenteren.

Een geldig grant nummer mag natuurlijk ook

Groupshield wordt hier op dit moment niet meer gebruikt, en is vervangen door Scanmail. Het grote nadeel van Groupshield , en zeker in deze versie, is dat het enorm veel shit achterlaat in de Directory, en de uninstall van het pakket zelf hier helemaal niets van corrigeert. In nieuwere versies (4.5 en ook 4.04) is dit wat beter voor elkaar. Verder is Groupshield niet 100 % water dicht voor VBS virussen, ondanks het blokken van de extensie wil d'r nog wel eens 1 door heen slippen.

Aangezien ik de huidige Exchange server aan het vervangen ben door een nieuwe wil ik de oude shit van Groupshield ook weg hebben. Dat scheelt het een en ander aan foutmeldingen zodra de oude server off-line gaat.

bij mij komen de vbs bestanden er nooit doorheen, misschien komt dat omdat ik .vb* geblokt heb

Ik heb het eerder bij een andere klant van me gezien dat ondanks het blokken van *.vbs (of *.vb* dat weet ik niet meer precies) er toch een *.vbs bestand (wat dus ook een virus was, een of andere love letter variant) zo door heen liep, en daarna door enkele gebruikers vrolijk werd geopend met de bekende mailstorm ten gevolg. Dit is op dat moment doorgestuurd naar Mcafee voor onderzoek. Ik heb alleen nooit meer iets daarvan gehoord . Ik zal eens bij een collega informeren wat de reactie is geweest.
Dit mailtje is op dat moment via de IMC binnengekomen en zonder meldingen in een mailbox afgeleverd, terwijl *.VBS werd geblokked, en de laatste DAT files (incl. engine updates) waren geinstalleerd.

Maar goed, dat lost allemaal mijn huidige probleempje niet op . Iemand anders nog ideëen ?

Groupshield voor Lotus Notes was heel erg gemakkelijk te verwijderen. Gewoon Ad//Remove programs + Reboot. We draaien nu met Norton AV for Lotus Notes

Solution:
NOTE: Network Associates recommends that you remove the GroupShield Exchange Client extensions first, then remove the GroupShield Exchange server application.

To remove the GroupShield Exchange Client extensions from a workstation, follow these steps

NOTE: Click Start in the Windows taskbar, point to Settings, then choose Control Panel. Next, locate and double-click the Services control panel to open it.

Stop these services:

Network Associates GroupShield Exchange
Network Associates GroupShield On-Line Update
Network Associates Alert Manager
When you have finished, close the Services control panel.

Start the Windows registry editor, then locate and remove the following registry keys and values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions \GroupShield Exchange Client Extensions


Start Windows Explorer, then locate and delete each of these files where they exist in the Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office directory:

Next, delete these files from the \WINDOWS directory:

EXCHANGE.DRV

Lastly, delete this file from the \WINDOWS\System directory

To remove the GroupShield Exchange server application from your computer, follow these steps:

Start Exchange Administrator in Raw mode. To do so, open a Command-Line Prompt window, then type:

..\exchsrvr\bin\ADMIN.EXE /R

at the command prompt. When the Exchange Administrator application opens, follow these substeps:

Select the server from which you want to remove the application, then select Network Associates Anti-Virus. Next, choose Delete Raw Object from the Edit menu.
Move to the Add-ins directory, then delete the four Network Associates Add-ins installed there.
Select the Recipients container, then choose Raw Properties from the File menu.
Select Extension-Name-Inherited from the Object Attributes list.
Select DSAVUAdm from the Attribute Values list, then click Remove. Click OK to close the Recipients Properties panel.
Select the Network Associates recipient container, then choose Delete Raw Object from the Edit menu.
If there are third party or custom forms in the forms library, do not delete the form.
If no custom forms exist, choose Forms Administrator from the Tools menu. In the dialog box that appears, select the folder named "Organisation(809) English(UK)" or "Organisation(409) English(USA)" then click Remove.


Start the Exchange mail client, then delete the Quarantine Folder.
Click Start in the Windows taskbar, point to Settings, then choose Control Panel. Next, locate and double-click the Services control panel to open it.

Stop these services:

Network Associates GroupShield Exchange
Network Associates GroupShield On-Line Update
Network Associates Alert Manager
When you have finished, close the Services control panel.



Start the Windows registry editor, then locate and remove the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Uninstall\Network Associates GroupShield Components

Remove the following two registry keys if you removed the Alert Manager key earlier:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\McAfee\McALSNMP
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\Extension Agents.


Start Windows NT Explorer, then locate and delete each of these folders, and their contents:

C:\Program Files\Network Associates\GroupShield Exchange
C:\Exchsrvr\Addins\DSAVUAdm
