Zorin booten vanaf usb stick lukt niet

Hey iedereen,

Heb gisteren een usb stick bij de MediaMarkt gehaald namelijk de Verbatim 3.0 32gb. Ik wilde die gebruiken om vanaf de stuk te kunnen booten met Zorin 10. Het probleem is dat ik in de bios deze usb stick niet als first bootdevice kan zetten omdat ik die niet zie. Heb nog een oude 16gb usb stick van de Aldi en als ik die in de pc heb, kan ik die wel zien in de bios.
Wat zou hier het probleem kunnen zijn?

Wat heb je zelf al geprobeerd om de USB-stick wel te zien? Niet alleen in je BIOS maar de stick wel zichtbaar op een PC waar al een OS op staat en in hoeverre denk je dat de stick ook werkt op die PC?

Verder geef je ons ook echt 0 informatie hoe jij denkt dat je een goede bootable USB hebt gemaakt; sowieso heb je het over een OS wat zelf geen bootmedia kan maken dus dan is er dus een menselijke factor die mogelijk de stick niet goed heeft geconfigureerd.

Hoe kan ik een stick confirugeren dan? En de stick werkt verder goed op de pc.

Tja, neem aan dat je dat mij kon vertellen? Het is namelijk mogelijk om met tientallen pakketten een bootable USB te maken. Het eerste wat ik vind aangezien ik Zorin niet ken en dus moet uitzoeken wat jij bedoelt, is UNetbootin gebruiken?

Kan dus met die Aldi stick wel gewoon een first boot device maken zonder dat ik wat daaraan heb gedaan. En UNetbootin heb ik al gebruikt maar zonder resultaat...

Logische test zou zijn om te kijken of een willekeurige andere PC wel opstart van je USB stick.
Zo ja, dan is het probleem je eigen (overigens niet vermelde) PC/hardware.
Zo nee, dan heb je de stick niet correct bootable gemaakt en moet je je daarop richten.

If you wish to install Zorin OS to your computer please follow this guide:

1. First, go to the Download page and download Zorin OS.

2. When the download is completed, please burn the image file (.iso) to a blank DVD (any type) at the slowest possible speed in order to avoid any errors. You can download ImgBurn if you don't have a CD/DVD burning program already installed. You can also burn the image file to a USB drive using Unetbootin.

3. When the burning process is completed insert the DVD/USB into the computer and restart with it still in. The computer should automatically boot from the DVD/USB. If not, you should change the settings in the BIOS or press the indicated boot menu key while booting up again.

4. Press the Enter key to start the Live DVD/USB, this is a thing that lets you run the operating system from the DVD/USB without installing it onto your computer.
Note: The Live DVD/USB runs much slower than after the full installation.

5. Click the "Install Zorin OS" icon on the desktop. This opens a window where you can select your desired settings.

6. During the installation phase, you will be prompted to make a new hard drive partition for Zorin OS. This slices your hard drive space to allow the installation of another operating system. The minimum partition size for Zorin OS Core is 5 Gigabytes.

7. Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions in order to set your language, keyboard layout and user account settings.

8. The installation should take 15-30 minutes.

9. After the installation, you will be prompted to restart your computer. After the restart, the computer should boot up into a menu where you choose which operating system you want to start. To select one, please use the arrow keys to highlight an option and press the Enter key to start the highlighted one.

Now you should have Zorin OS installed to your computer.

Ik heb dit ook een keer gehad. Ik had twee usb sticks, een wil prima booten die andere niet. Enige oplossing die toen voor mij werkte, was booten in linux, usb stick formateren met ext2 i.p.v. fat32, en daarna met een tool zoals Unetbootin de iso installeren op de usb stick.
