New desktop PC based on Xeon e3-1231v3

Hallo!

Ik vrag op advis over deze configuratie. Mag ik iets goedkoper maken uitgezonderd de processor en de videokaart? Ik liever deze processor hebben over andere en ik mag deze videokaart voor 150 euros kopen. Ik weet dat deze videokaart is goed maar stuk oud. Ik mag ook een neuwe kaart kopen voor ongeveer 150 euros. Wat zal ik doen?

Ik wil Engels verder schriven om beter te uitleggen.

Wat wil je doen met je nieuwe systeem?
Most of the time I do programming, which itself does not require much resources. But I always have several applications open and two monitors, which together takes a lot, and then I have problems with my current laptop. Sometimes I have Image Processing topics and that likes more memory and better graphics. I also watch videos and sometimes play 3D mmo games. I am going to have a double boot system with one of the Linux distributions. On Windows I will be probably running Virtual Machines.

Wat mag het systeem gaan kosten?
I can see now that it will cost me around 900 euros excluding monitor, since I have one 24 inch already. I prefer to have it cheaper. So, if you have a good solution, please share.

Zijn er componenten of randapparatuur die je al hebt en mee wil nemen naar je nieuwe systeem?

Wat denk je allemaal nodig te hebben?
I have chosen for Xeon e3-1231v3 for a couple of reasons: it does not have an integrated graphics card (I am going to buy an external one), it supports multithreading, it does not have an overclocking option, it was issued in Q2 of 2014 and I expect to use it fine for a few years.

So, I made a list on http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mmktYJ and it has a nice compatibility check. I would still like to know your opinion, also about the cheaper options.

Heb je nog bepaalde eisen/wensen?

• Price is important for me, so I would like to hear cheaper options.
• The case should not be fancy - a good cooling is more important.

I am looking for a new desktop PC but I am not very much familiar with hardware and I ask for an advise about the configuration. I have chosen for the Intel Xeon E3-1231v3 processor. I also can get two video cards Gigabyte pricewatch: Gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD for 150 euros each. The rest is somewhat difficult for me.

Could you please advise me on the rest of the components. Also it would be interesting for me to know if it is a good idea to use one of those video cards, or buy a new one. My budget for this is around 150-200 euros.

Another question is how do I do the assembly? I can buy everything online for cheaper and assemble it myself, but I am not sure if this is an easy task. I can also go to some shop and order everything there together with assembly, which will cost more. How much more will it cost? Does it worth to do the assembly myself? Which shop would you recommend in case of the assembly?

Any advises are welcome.

Dat kun jij dan wel preferren, maar het blijft gewoon een eis op dit forum.

Overigens lees ik net zo makkelijk Engels als Nederlands. Maar regels blijven gewoon regels. Hoe tenenkrommend het uiteindelijke resultaat ook wordt.


En om even ontopic te gaan.
Er is weinig te verminderen als het duurste component al degene is die niet gewijzigd mag worden.
Voor 150 kun je prima die 7970 kopen. De 7970's zijn wel verbruikers. Dus dat is dan de enige reden om het wellicht niet te doen.
Als je niet zou gamen zou ik gaan voor een i7 met geintegreerde graphics.
Overigens zou je nog kunnen vermelden wat je wilt gamen aan MMO's.
Wellicht dat dit prima op de iGP te doen is? Wellicht niet alles op max settings.

Er zijn zat Engelse fora waar de vragen geplaatst kunnen worden of de TS moet in NL wonen en hier een pc willen kopen. Dat zou dan nog de enige reden zijn om hier te komen voor advies, maar dan heeft hij vast wel iemand die wel Nederlands als taal heeft om te helpen met dit topic.

TS, als je niet gaat overclocken, kun je overwegen de boxed koeler te gebruiken, die maakt weliswaar wat meer geluid dan goede - stille - koelers, maar je bespaart er wel de aanschaf van een dergelijke koeler mee en de stock koeler koelt goed genoeg op stock snelheden, zeker als je niet gaat overclocken. Of je moet stilte als eis hebben.

What I do I described in the first message, and I assume that both, the used GPU and another new one of the same price (around 150 euros) will perform more or less equally for my tasks. My concern is more about if I can rely on the older one for a few years from now, such as on the newer one?

I was looking at the cheaper motherboards, and I can save there around 10-15 euros. But how does it influence the total performance of the system?

I would like to exclude the optical drive but the CD's and DVD's are still in use a lot. I myself have many, which I may want to load some day in the drive. I can probably skip it for the moment, but I believe, I will get one later anyway.

Ik begrijp dat er is niet veel te verbeteren. Hoe moet ik deze componenten kopen? Apart en dan zelf monteren of laat iemand deze doen?
