Deel hier je ervaringen over de vorige 2 delen, wat we kunnen verwachten van Shenmue 3, en uiteraard hoe het Kickstart project ervoor staat en overige nieuwtjes.

The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter proudly announces the addition of the PlayStation 4 Physical Copy Reward.



This is one of the most requested items on the list, and we are very happy to be able to include the Shenmue 3 PS4 Kickstarter Backer’s Edition as a Reward. If you are a Shenmue fan and PS4 gamer, this is the reward to have to commemorate the occasion!

PS4 Physical Copy Reward Details:

All backers pledging for a $60 Reward tier or higher, will have the option of a PS4 Physical Copy as their platform choice.

After the Kickstarter finishes, a survey will be sent out to backers in these tiers to confirm your choice of platform. Choose one of the following:

1. PS4 Physical Copy

2. PS4 Digital Copy

3. Windows PC Physical Copy

4. Windows PC Digital Copy.

Backers who have pledged for a PC Physical Copy will not need to adjust their rewards if they would prefer a PS4 Physical Copy instead.

Just a reminder, the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter will be offering only one copy of the game per backer (Trial Version excluded).

Komt er dan alleen een cd versie voor backers of ook nog in de winkel?

Das natuurlijk allemaal nog speculatief, maar de "Backers Edition" (Zowel PC als PS4) is slechts te verkrijgen door $60 te pledgen of downloadble code $29 voor Fri, Jul 17 2015 6:51 PM PDT.

Zal wel een "normale" PS4 en PC variant via de "reguliere retailkanalen" zijn weg weten te vinden naar de consument. Echter wanneer je nu "meedoet", betaal je uiteindelijk mee in ontwikkeling van de game, en hoe meer er binnengeharkt wordt, hoe uitgebreider het spel kan worden.

Wil verder deze Teaser niet onthouden welke (buitenom de aankondiging van Shenmue 3) al in ontwikkeling was:

Ik zit er iig al een aantal jaar op te wachten en was erg blij met de aankondiging. Shenmue delen waren destijds meest duurste games qua ontwikkeling, nu via een Kickstarter project? Daarom denk ik ook dat het 3e gedeelte veel te laat komt. Zonde, het verhaal en het gevoel wat je had met Shenmue in je dreamcast zal niet hetzelfde zijn op de PC of PS4.

De kosten voor Shenmue 1 & 2 zoals die destijds "de boeken in zijn gegaan" zijn lichtelijk (door SEGA (om marketingtechnische redenen)) overdreven, en zelfs door Yu Suzuki jaren later zelf bijgesteld naar zo'n 47Mio.

Let op dat er ook een Shenmue Saturn haast compleet gebouwd was (binnen datzelfde budget), maar nooit is uitgebracht.

Een stukje uit een Shenmue Community, misschien wat grof verwoord, maar er staan een hoop dingen in die verduidelijkt moesten worden. Yu Suzuki was (en hopelijk nog steeds "is") aan het pionieren geweest, en moest echt van scratch af aan beginnen, in een tijd waar de techniek nog helemaal niet zo ver was.

A lot of people moaning how will Shenmue 3 be any good with only 5-6 million budget... Lets clear this nonsense up.
It cost 47-50 million for Shenmue 1 and 2.
Shen1/2 Costs went into developing an engine from scratch
Shen 3 Engine already made (Richard: UnrealEngine4)
Shen1/2 Costs went into weather systems and time system
Shen3 Less costs as this is already made
Shen1/2 Lots of costs went into marketing
Shen3 None needed we are the market and Sony covering marketing costs.
Shen1/2 Much costs went into model developing, designs and pushing graphics 5 years ahead.
Shen 3 Some models already laid out just being remodeled and graphics will not need to be way ahead of its time this time.
Shen1/2 Costs in performance tuning and a lot of testing went into making the game run well on dreamcast very limited hardware
Shen 3 Again not needed as we have much better technology (approx 150 times faster than dreamcast) now, performance tuning is becoming a thing of the past.
Shen1/2 Costs went into developing Saturn prototype and migrating to dreamcast and took 7 years to make meaning 7 years of staff costs and testing costs.
Shen 3 No prototype needed or migration costs and will only collect 2 to 3 years worth of costs.
Shen1/2 Many interactive features was a new thing and costly to develop then as most were never done before...
Shen 3 These interactive features now will be easier and quicker to develop as they are common in other games or something similar done.
There is so many more reasons Shenmue 3 can be just as good with a low budget...

Al gepledged Bartas?

Inmiddels ook een nieuwe "What's Shenmue filmpje geplaatst"op kickstarter.

Vandaag wederom een nieuwe officiele trailer geplaats:

Begin deze avond ook de 5.000.000 USD overschreden. Tijd dat BloodStained wordt ingehaald met hun 5.545.991 USD

Nou het heeft ff geduurd, maar daar issie dan Heb het een half uurtje gespeeld, ik hou d'r wel van. Ziet er prima uit, lekker verhalend, heerlijk rustig. Wel op Japanse audio gezet met Engelse subs. Kan eens proberen of de Engelse stemmen wat soeps zijn, maar op een of andere manier ga ik toch altijd graag voor de native tongue als het even kan.

Wel even wennen als non-controller pc-gamert, maar valt me reuze mee tot nu toe qua bediening.
Heb volgens mij Shenmue op de Dreamcast gespeeld nog, maar details ben ik kwijt behalve dat ik het vet vond (en het laden eeuwen leek te duren,hehe).

De reviews die verschijnen zijn ook lovend, benieuwd wat jullie medeTweakers ervan vinden

Ja maar ik zou aanraden om deel 1 en 2 te spelen eerst zijn verkrijgbaar als pakket in winkel of PlayStation store/Steam. Wel opletten dat deze games al meer dan 18 jaar oud zijn dus kan gedateerd overkomen maar voor mij was nostalgie en sfeer goed te doen om daardoor heen te kijken
