Ubuntu 15.04 + spotify + eminem = desktop crash (!!)

...bij het luisteren van een eminem playlist crashed de complete desktop. pak ik andere playlist is er niets aan de hand.

die laatste regel van dmesg betreft 'libcef.so' wat een onderdeel is van spotify.

heb de toepassing verwijderd, purged, en opnieuw geinstalleerd. maar voutmelding / crash blijft bestaan.
goed.. misschien maar geen eminem playlist luisteren, maar de werkdag vereist deze muziek vandaag

naar spotify gebruik ik blockify maar ook zonder die toevoeging blijft desktop crashen

suggestie?

chromium debug spul installeren, coredumps aanzetten en dan de coredump aan gdb voeren om een backtrace te laten genereren en aan de hand daarvan verder zoeken.

Dus blijkbaar maakt die applicatie daar gebruik van

Op mijn Ubuntu 14.04 laptop kan ik geen libcef vinden dus ging ik er van uit dat het deel was van Chromium. Blijkbaar heeft spotify die lib zelf aan boord.
Ik weet niet of spotify ook debug pakketten meelevert maar je hebt iets van spotify-dbg of libcef-dbg nodig.
Misschien kom je er mee weg door de Chromium dbg pakketten te installeren. Dan moet het wel om dezelfde versie van libcef gaan.

Een nog gewaagder idee is om libcef.???.so te vervangen door een andere, iets nieuwere versie.
Het is overigens goed mogelijk dat de fout niet in libcef zelf zit maar dat Spotify er verkeerd gebruik van maakt.

De kans dat dit werkt is echt miniem. Je zal wsch tegen ABI-breaks aanlopen.

De kernel log ziet er uit als een NULL-pointer dereference. Misschien kun je met strace/ltrace nog iets leren?

beetje lopen spelen met vervanging van libcef.so (vergelijkbare versie, 32/64bit issues blabla) alle resulteren in niet werkende spotify, debug van die heb ik nog niet kunnen bemachtigen

weet dat spotify leunt op nodige gebruikers instellingen/profiel/cache(?) en gezien probleem maar op 1 manier te reproduceren bleek...

1+1= met andere $user uitgevoerd en werkt prima

had dat wel eerder kunnen bedenken

toch is er iets met die libcef.so niet lekker, kwam ook bij pakketje crypt welke handmatig geïnstalleerd moest worden. levert namelijk volledige harde crash op

maar er is weer herrie
