Empire Earth op Windows 8.1

Ik probeer EE1 op Win8.1 aan de praat te krijgen, maar zowel de installer als de autorun crashen
Als ik Setup.exe op de CD-ROM probeer te draaien geeft hij eerst dit:

En daarna verschijnt er nog een fout:


Mocht het echt nodig zijn, kan ik nog een Win2K VM instellen, echter zou het wel fijn zijn als ik het spel dan wel native kan draaien.

Verder meen ik dat de versie van Installshield Installshield 6 is.

Noot dat EE op een CD-ROM staat.

Heb je al geprobeeerd om de installer in compatbility mode te starten?

Mocht niks werken en je wil het heel graag spelen, dan kan het de moeite waard zijn om het spel van GoG te kopen: http://www.gog.com/game/empire_earth_gold_edition Die is up-to-date en zou sowieso moeten werken op moderne computers.

Compatibility mode hielp niks helaas
Van GoG kopen kan de moeite waard zijn, echter probeer ik eerst het spel in een VM te installeren en daarna evt over te zetten naar 8.1 (XP trial VM van modern.ie, bedankt Microsoft )

Even een snelle update: gefixt door MS EMET wat minder streng in te stellen.
