Ninja Blocks is bankrupt

Ninja Blocks heeft geen ene rode cent meer, Ontwikkeling van hun kickstarter project Ninja Sphere is gestopt.

The short answer is: we’ve run out of money. Development of Sphere ran over-time, and therefore over-budget.

Even with all the ninjas earning far below what they would expect to get somewhere else, our burn rate couldn’t be sustained forever. Ninja Blocks has always run lean, and when the next round of investment fell through we didn’t have much runway left to adjust our course.

With no credible source of funding on the horizon, and hardware still undelivered to kickstarter backers we made the difficult decision to down-tools. Doing this has left the company with enough to pay the creditors and eventually ship almost all the Spheres that were promised.

Ninja Blocks is out of money, so we can no longer keep developing Sphere. We’re going dark so we can continue to keep the cloud services running, and shipping all but 300 of the owed Spheres to kickstarter backers over the next few months. Everything has been open sourced, and we’ll be here to help the community keep developing it if they want to. As a company, we might be back at some point, but nothing is solid right now.

Jemig, wat een verhaal.

Heb ook wel gekeken naar deze box maar vond hem niet onderscheidend genoeg.

Wat er al lang naar aan het uitkijken, maar moet waarschijnlijk op zoek gaan naar alternatieven. Erg jammer dat ze het niet hebben kunnen afmaken.
