Hi all,
Firstly, apologies for this post in English. I'm an Englishman living in Amsterdam. Writing Dutch for me is very difficult but i can read it ok, so if you want to reply in Dutch, please do!
I'd be very grateful for some advice regarding the following:
I'm a member of a CPO group ( what is CPO?: http://tinyurl.com/metlb4y), and part of my responsibility it to arrange the CAI aansluiting for the 10 houses, or at least investigate the possibilities.
Could someone please explain to me how it physically works? In NL one has a choice of various providers, like UPC, Ziggo, XS4ALL, KPN etc. But does that mean that each provider has the cables running through the streets? And we can just choose? Or does it not work like that?
Also, these days, glasvezel is fastest, right? But, does that glasvezel cable come right into the house, or does it end somewhere near the house (in the street) and actually come into each house individually on a copper cable?
As we are putting in all new wiring for 10 houses, what would be the most sensible, modern setup?
Many thanks in advance for any advice / replies!
