weet je ook dat er een secondary task in zit? hij gaat nu ook zo af en toe de exodus task uitvoeren, of te wel een stress test voor een web-site. nou daat zijn we blij mee. gaat een client die op jou machine staat een DDoS uitvoeren op commando van UD. ik weet niet of ik nog langer UD ga draaien.
Hoe bedoel je klok en klepel..
De nieuwe client gaat een 2e programma draaien, Exodus, dat telkens zeer kortstondig verbinding probeert te maken met bepaalde websites. Hierdoor worden gegevens verzameld over de verbinding met die website, waarna die gegevens (connectiesnelheid, timeouts, ping .. *denk ik* )verkocht worden aan bedrijven die die sites hosten.
UD is een commercieel bedrijf...
I understand that if we don't opt out of Exodus it will use our PCs as "guinea-pigs" to access the web-sites run by Exodus' customers. The Exodus agent will gather statistics concerning those accesses and Exodus will provide those statistics back to their customers. UD charges Exodus for this service and Exodus in turn charges its customers for providing the information.
The purpose is for Exodus' customers to know how well their web-sites are performing in the real world.
Het is dus een klein programmaatje, in de UD client, en het verschil in "graas" snelheid zal niet groot zijn als je het hebt draaien, zeker niet omdat het maar heel af en toe draait.
Als Exodus van start gaat wordt dit gemeld! Je kan dan in je 'profile' aangeven of je wilt dat het op jouw computer draait of niet.
Denk je nou echt dat UD zn naam op het spel zet om via jouw computer iemand anders schade aan te doen?
