Er is wel een update gedaan over de reactie van Apple, maar het feitelijk onjuist zijn van de bevindingen van de onderzoeker worden niet gerectificeerd. In tegenstelling tot wat de onderzoeker en het tweakers artikel beweert kan de functionaliteit namelijk uitgeschakeld worden. Dit staat ook in de link van Ars Technica.
Apple verdient geen punten voor duidelijkheid, maar het is uit te zetten.

Disable “Spotlight Suggestions” and “Bing Web Searches” in System Preferences > Spotlight > Search Results.

Dat klopt, dat schrijf ik ook in m'n reactie. Echter, mist daar niet in dat het sturen van de data wel uit te zetten is in tegenstelling wat eerder wordt beweerd in het artikel?

Overigens noemde de onderzoeker dit al wel op Fix-MacOSX en gaat het vooral om de onduidelijkheid van het op twee plekken af moeten vinden van opties om het delen te voorkomen.
