@garriej: ik woon in Slovakije
Good afternoon,
since with different graphics card the motherboard has no problems, there is no
problem with motherboard and the we are back to the incompatibility issue that can
be solved by changing one of the parts for a different one.
Indeed, we are back to incompatibility. Which I already stated in my initial service
request. As other motherboards do not show this incompatibility with this particular
graphics card, the incompatibility is with the motherboard.
Can you please escalate this issue to someone who takes time to understand my
issue? You''''re obviously not willing to acknowledge ASUS is at fault by its poor
implementation of the P67 chipset.
I can resort to a car simulation to hopefully make you see the ridiculous statement
you''''re making.
You buy a car, the first 2 years you drive it in Belgium without issue. Then you move to
the Netherlands, but for some reason the car doesn''''t work on Dutch roads. There is
nothing particular about Dutch roads. Other cars work just fine on Dutch roads. But
the car dealer is asking you to just move to another country in stead. You would state
you can reasonably expect the car to work on Dutch roads as there is nothing so
special about them, and you would ask you exchange the car for a similar model that
does work on Dutch roads. If you would bring this to court, you would be either
refunded for the car or granted a different car. It's only sane.
Good morning,
if you want to change the motherboard, you have to send it to service center by
giving it back to your reseller. In service center will the motherboard be tested and if
the motherboard will be behaving the same with all graphic cards it will be changed.
Since you are stating that with different graphics card it works fine I am trying to
save you the time. The motherboard will not be changed in this case, because it is
worknig fine and the only problem is incompatibility with your new graphics card.
Please understand "it is worknig fine and the only problem is incompatibility with
your new graphics card."
which means it is not working fine as it is incompatible with the graphics card.
Can you please escalate this mail to a supervisor, as you do not seem to understand
that an incompatibility is a product design failure.
Good morning,
the incompatibility is between two devices. You probably don't understand this problem well enough and want to put the problem to just one side. Please understand that there is no side to blame for the problem. There is only one solution which is change of one of the parts ( not service change, just a purchase of a different part ). You can always send the motherboard to your reseller for test in service center.
I have solved the incompatibility myself.
In BIOS I've chosen "PCI Option ROM Priority = Legacy", which solved the issue.
However, I'm deeply disappointed in the course of events and where in the past I've always been a big fan of ASUS, I will never buy an ASUS product again. Several reasons:
- there was a solution which you were not aware of
- requested several times to be contacted by a supervisor, which you ignored
- I have stated from my initial email all the necessary facts, but you kept on "forgetting" all the investigations I did myself (where I excluded hardware faults on both the motherboard and the graphics card)
- I consider the motherboard as the basis of a system, and it is the motherboard that should support all devices that adhere to the standard a motherboard supposedly supports. You failed to understand that and just suggested I should keep on buying new graphics cards until I find one that works. This is very consumer-unfriendly.
I hope this correspondence is being monitored, otherwise I guess you are lucky. However, I will post this email-track on popular public forums, both to highlight the solution to other users and to highlight the unprofessionalism of the ASUS helpdesk.
