Probably a little late to the commenting party and this will never be seen, but I decided to break my posting virginity to show photos of my old ipod touch to show that this isn't a new problem. The ipod actually ended up breaking because it slowly bent over over the year I had it. I would keep it in my pants pocket as I walked. I guess that was a mistake.

Apple never said it was a problem when I tried to take it in while on the warranty.
