OCZ Geheugen Levenslange garantie, niet levenslang

De levenslange garantie van OCZ op geheugen bestaat helaas niet meer.
Ik zie dit af en toe voorbij komen in V&A advertenties, dat er bij OCZ geheugen vermeld wordt dat je er levenslange garantie op hebt.

OCZ geeft geen garantie meer op geheugen, sinds december 2013. Toen is blijkbaar de divisie geheugen failliet verklaard. Daar gaat je Lifetime garantie dus.

Ben er zelf afgelopen maand achter gekomen, toen ik een setje RMA wilde sturen

unfortunately we are not able to offer you warranty services for this item. Your product has been manufactured and sold by OCZ Technology Group, which filed for bankruptcy in December 2013. Through bankruptcy proceedings, Toshiba Corporation has acquired substantially all the assets from OCZ Technology Group but most liabilities, including outstanding warranties, have been excluded from that acquisition. The new company - OCZ Storage Solutions - is a Toshiba Group Company and is not the same organization as OCZ Technology Group. Although not required, OCZ Storage Solutions is pleased to provide warranty support for current models, excluding discontinued, ‘End-of-Life’ and Legacy products. Jup, het is overgenomen door Toshiba zoals te lezen in het antwoord wat je kreeg.

Toch zijn ze coulant, als het product nog niet EOL is krijg je gewoon je garantie

Maar alle geheugens zijn EOL, die overgenomen garantie is volgens mij alleen voor de SSD drives.

Ik wilde dit ook voornamelijk vermelden als mededeling.
