HD 1080p full screen

Hi why do I still see the black bars above and below the film image on my Viera LCD when playing a film from my HD GTX 640 Nvidia card from my PC via HDMI to my tv? I was lead to believe that Full HD would give a full screen when viewed on a HD tv. Thanks.

Zie je op je monitor wel volledig beeld? Zo niet, dan is de film waarschijnlijk niet 16:9, maar 21:9.

thanks. mostly i download from utorrents . i always look for 1080p or 1080i. is there anything to look for in particular? i have the TV set to auto aspect ratio. but in contrast RTL etc broadcast in full HD. really want to get my downloaded films in full HD.

Heel veel films zijn 21:9, dus dan zal het dat zijn, ook al zijn ze 1080p.
