Om even over dat dikgedrukte stukje te pratenMicrosoft is begonnen met de uitrol van de eerste grote software-update voor de Xbox One. De update maakt het onder meer mogelijk om geïnstalleerde content te beheren. De volgende update komt over een maand en moet problemen met Xbox Live oplossen.
De software wordt sinds vrijdagavond laat, Nederlandse tijd, uitgerold, zo heeft het hoofd van Xbox Live bekendgemaakt. De software-update is niet voor iedereen direct te downloaden, maar wie de Instant On-modus heeft ingeschakeld, krijgt de update op een zeker moment automatisch binnen. Oorspronkelijk zou de update dinsdag al worden uitgerold, maar om onduidelijke redenen werd de uitrol uitgesteld.
De update maakt het onder meer mogelijk om te zien hoeveel schijfruimte er over is, hoeveel schijfruimte games en apps innemen en wat er is geïnstalleerd. Daarnaast bevat het homescreen nu weer de accustatus, wat op de Xbox 360 ook al zo was. Bovendien kan na het installeren van de update een usb-toetsenbord worden aangesloten. Daarnaast bevat de update tweaks die speciaal voor de game Titanfall zijn doorgevoerd.
Op 4 maart komt de volgende software-update voor de console, die in Nederland nog altijd niet verkrijgbaar is, behalve via grijze import. In die update moeten problemen met Xbox Live en party-chats worden opgelost.
Ik heb zelf al de x1 sinds 22 november maar ik heb totaal geen last van xbox live, ik hoor niemand over xbox live klagen op de Xbox One

With the next Xbox One update scheduled to come out this week, Marc Whitten has posted details about what to expect in our March update, including details around the imporvements we’re making to Xbox One multiplayer and parties:
Get to your friends list faster. The friends list will be front and center on the homepage of the Friends app. Click the Social tile on Home, or say “Xbox, go to Friends” to see who’s online and what they’re up to. From there you can quickly send messages and get into a party.
Party chat will be turned on by default. When you party up, chat audio will be turned on by default.
Chat with friends playing different games. Party chat will be separated from people playing your game, so you can chat with your friends who are online or you can chat with everyone playing the game.
We’re adding an “Invite friends to game” option to your multiplayer titles moving forward. Similar to Xbox 360 titles, this will appear inside a games’ menu and offer a simple and quicker way to set up your multiplayer battles. Selecting “Invite friends” will let you invite friends to your game and party.
We’re adding “Recent Players.” This is a simple list that shows you Xbox Live members you’ve recently played with, making it easier to stay in touch with people, or add new friends after your multiplayer battles.

Dus graag een rectificatie, er zijn geen problemen met Xbox Live, er worden alleen dingen aan de X1 toegevoegd.
