Ik vroeg mij af, waarom staat er in de Cisco procedure dat je de interfaces uit moet zetten tijdens een password-recovery?

Als je het goed leest staan de interfaces, na het aanpassen de config-register, op shutdown in de running-config. De router heeft dan een running-config waar de interfaces op shutdown zijn. Ik zie het probleem niet.

The show running-config command shows the configuration of the router. In this configuration, the shutdown command appears under all interfaces, which indicates all interfaces are currently shut down.

Dat staat er niet.
Staat alleen in dat als jij sh run intypt dat het bij elk interface shutdown laat zien.
Dit komt omdat interfaces automatisch uit staan. Om ze in te schakelijk gebruik je no shut command.
