Panono - Spheric 360 graden werpbare bal-camera

Tijdens het online browsen liep ik tegen de volgende crowdfunding-pagina aan en vond het wel een cool idee. Betreft een bal die als je hem gooit 36 foto's in alle richtingen maakt, die dan vervolgens met stitching software tot 1 grote foto worden samengevoegd.

Best een flink bedrag voor zo'n gimmick die eigenlijk nog best belabberde foto's maakt.
En ik moet nog zien hoe lang die heel blijft als ik hem voluit omhoog gooi en hem niet opvang....

Leuk idee, maar 36 camera's die wel goed beeld leveren zijn natuurlijk duurder, maar wat ik nog erger vind is dat er gewoon nog stitch fouten in het beeld zitten.

Tja, als je voor 500 euro 36 camera's hebt is de beeldkwaliteit natuurlijk niet hetzelfde als je Canon spiegelreflex.

De foto's op de site zijn van een vroeg prototype. Zoals met elk crowdfunding project is het nog work in progress. Verbeteren van de stitchingsoftware staat ook op de lijst.

Wat ik niet snap is dat ze de buitenkant van hard plastic maken, en niet met iets schokabsorberend krasvasts.

Omdat zacht kunststof vervormd wat de camera's waarschijnlijk meer kwaad doet dan de hogere remvertraging met hard kunststof.
Ze hebben ook helemaal geen 36 camera's nodig, maar gewoon minder camera's met een uwa lens ervoor.
Daarnaast moet een prototype je wel beeldmateriaal tonen die het aantrekkelijk maakt om €500 uit te geven aan een gimmick.

We are very happy that, with a resolution of 108 Megapixels (export size 16k x 8k equirectangular), the Panono Explorer Edition currently is the highest resolution 360° camera on the market. It is the perfect solution to capture moments in stunning quality that engage the viewer. It is also a great tool for documentation, already in use for construction sites, insurance claim evaluation and other professional areas.

The last weeks have also seen great progress throughout our software solutions. In addition to our iOS app we released a public beta version of our Android app and a beta version of our HDR-enabled firmware.

But we also have some not so good news regarding the consumer version of the Panono: With the current design of the Panono that is optimized for mechanical ruggedness and very high quality image output, production costs are still relatively high. For this reason there will be no consumer version of the Panono in 2016 and the next version of the Panono will be targeted at the prosumer and professional market. Like the Panono Explorer Edition it will be a very high resolution 360° camera and it will be sold at a similar price. There is no timeline yet for the release of this next version of the Panono.

This means that unfortunately we are not able to fulfil your original pre-order of the consumer version of the Panono anytime soon and also most probably not at the original price point.
