AMD Palomino Desktop Core wanneer??

[Help!!!!]

1) Wanneer komt de AMD Palomino Desktop Core nou precies op de markt.
2) Wat zijn dan de verbeteringen tov de t-bird core.
3) Past ie ook op bijv MSI K7T turbo cq Asus A7v133 (evt na bios update).

ff afwegen dus. die nforce chipset is ook wel interessant. maar de herfst is nog wel ver weg en je kan wel blijven wachten.

beetje off topic maar ter info:

sta nu op het punt om binnen een week of 3 het volgende te kopen
1) t-bird 1200/266
2) asus a7v133 raid of msi k7turbo raid
3) koeler

geheugen heb ik al: 384mb corsair 133 2-2-2

maar mbt 2 vind ik het heel moeilijk kiezen en van die koelers wordt ik ook gek.
Wil eigenlijk een silverado maar wel erg duur en een levertijd van 3a4 weken.

zoek een koeler die: koel is (duh), stil, makkelijk te installeren en niet te duur maar dat laatste is niet allerbelangrijkst.

nee in hoeveel mhz? en met welk mobo gaan ze?

kan je garanderen dat als je nu een Epox EP-8K7A(+) of een ASUS A7M koop met wat DDR-RAM dat ik daar ook nog zo'n Palomino op kan prikken? Komen die niet met een ander soort chipset en hoelang kan ik blijven upgaden met zo'n AMD 760 (wat is max aan Mhz)

Vraag me alleen af of ze ook de 2ghz barriere gaan doorbreken en of hij ook unlockbaar is!

Weet ik niet, ligt eraan hoelang AMD doorgaat met de Palomino in zijn huidige vorm.

Een interessante quote in dit verband van AnandTech:

AMD unveiled their new Athlon core with the Athlon 4 a couple weeks ago. While no benchmarks have been published yet, the question remains whether the new processor will work on current motherboards. We took this chance to ask ABIT if they have any information on this topic with respect to their popular KT7A-RAID. He told us that, so far, their testing has been quite positive and that the Athlon 4 chips they have in hand are working properly on the KT7A-RAID.

When asked if this is because the KT7A-RAID has a very wide range of CPU core voltages (from 1.100 1.850 in 0.025V increments), we got a somewhat surprising response. While voltage values available on the board could be an issue, the most important piece of the puzzle is the necessary circuitry for detecting the chip correctly. They said that the circuitry on their current KT7A-RAID is already capable of detecting the Palomino core and that's the main reason why the chip will work on their board, but possibly not on others.

ik neem aan dat je de releasedatum van de palomino bedoelt, die was (meen ik) gepland voor half/eind juni. bijna dus !

ik ben meer geinteresseerd in de server versie, weet iemand daar meer van ?

The 1-2 processor-capable server chip and the mobile Palomino will launch first, with a desktop Palomino arriving in Q3 2001. Even though May 15 is some kind of announcement date, The Reg points out that, "Palominos aimed at mobile applications and at one- to two-way server and workstation roles are set to ship by the end of June." So, even though they get announced in a couple weeks, don't expect to see any in volume for at least another month or two
