Schijf converteren van GPT naar MBR

Hallo tweakers,

Ik heb sinds enkele maanden een nieuwe laptop aangeschaft, de Asus n56vz. Ik ben uiterst tevreden ermee, maar nu wil ik toch graag proberen hackintosh hierop te zetten aangezien dat makkelijk kan met deze type laptop.

Voor het installeren van Mac OSX heb ik echter een MBR schijf nodig in plaats van de GPT schijf die ik nu heb. Het probleem is dat ik maar één schijf heb, en dat is dus ook de schijf waar windows 8 op staat, dus ik kan hem niet vanuit windows van GPT naar MBR converteren.

Mijn vraag is: Is er een andere manier om hem te converteren? Is Gparted live (cd) een optie? EN kan ik eventueel de data op de schijf ook behouden als ik hem converteer? Ik heb hierbij een foto toegevoegd met daarop mijn schijfbeheer.

Convert GPT Disk to MBR Disk

Warning
Before you convert a disk, be sure to backup anything that you do not want to lose on that disk. Converting the disk requires that all partitions and volumes are deleted on the disk first.

Dankje voor de snelle reactie, maar ik kan vanuit windows niet de harde schijf converteren waar windows zelf op staat.

Nee dat is logisch. Bij de conversie wordt de hele disk gewist, alle data is dus weg!

Deze schijf kan in ieder geval niet zonder meer naar MBR worden geconverteerd. Ik tel 5 partities (+ '128MB niet toegewezen'), terwijl MBR slechts 4 ondersteund. Dat kan wel uitgebreid worden met een extended partitie, maar die moet je ergens kwijt. Verder betekent dat dat 2 of meer partities veranderen van 'primair' naar 'logisch'. Het zou kunnen dat ze daarmee hun huidige functie niet kunnen vervullen.

@mijzelf dat snap ik;), maar hoe kan ik dat doen? omdat ik de hele schijf moet wissen en opnieuw moet indelen kan dat niet vanuit windows zelf omdat windows op deze schijf staat.

Hoezo zou je de schijf naar MBR zetten? Ik draai zelf ook hackintosh en heb een macbook welke beide geinstalleerd staan op een gpt disk.

Os x werkt native met GUID oftewel guid partition table(GPT).

@tweakg5. omdat ik niet erg bekend ben met hackintosh en hoe dat precies werkt, heb ik op het internet een recoverybstand (arc-bestand) gevonden die speciaal voor mijn type laptop is.

Alleen werkt dat recoverybestand alleen met MBR:(

Hint: Er is een wijzig-knop rechtsboven elk bericht, vlak naast de quote-knop. Zo hoef je niet meerdere berichten achter elkaar te plaatsen

Kan een willekeurig bootable partitioneringprogramma dit niet?

Je kunt toch gewoon je harde schijf wipen en daarna 1 MBR partitie voor Windows maken en de rest voor OSX? Moet je alleen Windows 8 opnieuw kaal installeren met een willekeurige WIndows 8 DVD. De code wordt automatisch uitgelezen uit je BIOS

Het blad C'T (niet Computer!Totaal, de Nederlandse versie van het Duitse C'T) heeft in het oktober nummer een artikel van 4 pagina's met veel verschillende manieren om dit voor elkaar te krijgen.
Aanrader, kopen wanneer ie in de winkel ligt dus! Het blad kost maar 6,45 euro dus dat zijn de kosten niet.

Overigens, een programma die ik gewoon vaak gebruik is GParted Live, wat niet meer is dan Gparted op een live CD die je makkelijk op kan starten. Sowieso vind ik dat programma ook duidelijker en qua mogelijkheden met andere partities zoals die van OSX of Linux beter dan Windows' Schijfbeheer.

Het zou toch moeten kunnen met elke willekeurige live-cd met gdisk. Gdisk heeft AFAIK zelfs een optie" Zap GPT" (of zoiets). Wel eerst een MBR maken.

Het onderste antwoord is waar ik op doelde. Geen idee of het werkt trouwens, garantie tot hier. ;p

The program will prompt for confirmation, then ask you if you want to preserve the MBR structure. Do preserve this.

After that, it should be as simple as rebooting your computer (because the kernel will still be using the old partition table and it needs a restart to update), and then firing up fdisk and deleting the remnant of the GPT partition. You will still see the same warning about using GNU Parted that you saw before, but you can ignore it this time, as it will go away when you delete the partition.

This will give you an MBR partition table system on a blank drive onto which you can reinstall an OS. If you are attempting to do this with existing partitions, it is quite a bit more complicated and in some cases not even possible, so I would recommend that you simply back up your data and do it this way
