Good day,
First my apologies for not being able to write Dutch. Knowing to some extent high German, some Swiss German dialects, English and French enables me to read to a useful degree but not write. It seems to me like Dutch uses some unaccustomed but usually understandable ways to express similar things in German but it probably feels likewise from the Dutch perspective. If anyone prefers to reply in German (seems to me closer to Dutch than English), they are welcome.
My problem: i recently volunteered to beta-test an Android app being developed by a fellow-member of this forum. To access the requisite log files and to install screen capture software (and for other purposes) it would be very useful to root my LG Optimus E975. The boot loader must first be unlocked. The LG is less removed from stock Android that my Sony Xperia Z (einer ist keiner), so i have decided to attempt rooting with the LG.
I have read some of the websites that explain boot unlock and rooting procedures for the LG Optimus E975 but they seem varied and contain user comments that some have ruined their phones in the process. I am not afraid but cautious.
If someone can explain (in slow motion, please, perhaps with a short film or screen captures) how to unlock boot and root my device in a safe and sure way (i am a mere lazy end user with limited technical prowess), i should be thankful. I have enabled debugging and know how to attach the phone to a computer with the USB cable.
Advice on how best to back up the cell phone before boot unlock and rooting would also be much appreciated, as the LG has no external SD card slot. BTW i have no Google account and, until Prism gets sorted out, do not intend to get one.
Best regards,
lihin
