Kantoor PC, voornamelijk voor programmeren

Ik werk voornamelijk met Eclipse, VMware en heb meestal tig (chrome) browsers open.
Budget ligt tussen de 500 en 750 euro.
Alle randapperatuur heb ik al, een monitor met HDMI aansluiting en een monitor met DVI aansluiting. DVD drive heb ik niet nodig, voor de installatie van het OS heb ik nog wel een drive liggen.
Ook zou het fijn zijn als het een stil systeem wordt.
Vanwege VMware dacht ik aan minimaal 16 GB geheugen.

Met mijn kennis kom ik op deze configuratie:

Mis ik iets in deze configuratie of valt er nog ergens te optimaliseren? Is het beter om een Intel Core i5 3570K processor te kiezen vanwege de video processor?

Enige verschil tussen de K-CPU en de non-K is dat de K-CPU een overklok potentiaal heeft. Dus dit is niet nodig als je daar niet aan begint. Ook zou ik er een wat krachtigere PSU inzetten voor toekomstige upgrades: pricewatch: Seasonic M12II 520W Verder prima systeem al zal ik niet teveel verwachten van de IGP, maar als je niet veel grafisch werk doet is dat geen probleem.

je hebt een laag budget. Een i5 zou kunnen. Misschien kan dit je verder helpen.

Dit is wat ik persoonlijk zou doen, maar deze vlieger hoeft voor jou niet op te gaan. Een goede oplossing voor VM's zou zijn om een i7 processor te kopen, bijvoorbeeld een Intel Core i7 3770. Deze heeft Intel VT-d, Intel VT-x support (YouTube: Intel® Virtualization Technology) en deze processor kun je combineren met een moederbord met een Q77 chipset (http://ark.intel.com/products/64027/Intel-BD82Q77-PCH).

Maar omdat je budget laag is zul je op zoek moeten naar een alternatief, zoals de i5. Je schrijft dat het een kantoor PC is. Houdt dit in dat je baas opdraait voor het stroomverbruik? In dat geval kun je kijken naar een AMD 8 core processor.

Intel's VT-x = AMD V and VT-d=AMD IOMMU
Both fx8150/8120 have AMD V and IOMMU.I5 3xxx/2xxx have both VT-x and VT-d.The k-series intel 2nd/3rd gen processors(like i5 2500k) have VT-x but no VT-d.
So as far vitualisation support is concerned I think they are pretty even if you consider fx 81xx or i5 3xxx/2xxx.

IOMMU depends upon the chipset.Motherboards built around 970,990X,990fx chipsets have IOMMU implemented on it.These motherboards don't have on-board graphics.
So you have to get a graphic card for display if you go with the above mentioned chipset based motherboards.
880G chipset has on-board graphics but doesn't support IOMMU.

Ik denk dat je zelf weet hoe jouw gebruik met de pc is en daarom beter zal kunnen bepalen welke processor bij jouw manier van werken past.
