Windows 7 Tweaks en Services voor HTPC

Mijn vraag maar even naar hier verhuisd sinds topic is gesloten en nog geen antwoord had.

Ik ben mijn HTPC in elkaar aan het zetten en heb een softwarevraag:

Ik wil op mijn 30 GB SSD windows 7 draaien met XBMC (geen Windows Media Center) en een internet browser. Het moet heel licht worden allemaal, dus ik wil niets teveel installeren.

Nu ben ik met RT 7 Lite (soort vLite achtige tool, UI en opties zijn haast gelijk) de windows 7 image aan het uitkleden, maar dat valt me erg tegen. Het ontbreekt mij aan kennis over wat wel / niet essentieel of aanbevolen is. Het gaat me voornamelijk om welke versie handig zou zijn (home of pro of ultimate bv.) en om welke componenten en services belangrijk zijn.

De mediaspeler komt in mijn netwerk (windows / werkgroep) en streamed media vanaf de NAS. Geen games, wel internet + internet media.

Weet iemand hoe ik daar achter kan komen of kan iemand me tips geven?

Wat heb je zelf al geprobeerd om duidelijkheid te krijgen over wat van belang is? Als ik google op 'strip win7' bijvoorbeeld krijg ik toch al een aantal tips en dergelijke voor mijn neus. De nodige info over services en dergelijke is bijvoorbeeld hier te vinden.

Ik had een beetje gehoopt dat er misschien een soort bekende lijst met htpc-services en features zou zijn. Ik was inderdaad al begonnen met alle services langs gaan, maar het bos is groot en de bomen zijn daardoor moeilijk te zien. Met de link ben ik ieg erg blij, ik ga er eens mee aan de slag.

Mijn HTPC hoeft naast online media en streamen vanaf mijn NAS mbv XBMC niets te kunnen. Ik vraag me dan bijvoorbeeld ook af hoe belangrijk security is. Het niet installeren van de Windows beveiligingscentrumonderdelen scheelt namelijk nogal in performance.

Wanneer iemand ervaringen of suggesties heeft, graag!

Goed, uiteindelijk heb ik mij door alle service beschrijvingen van Black Viper heengewerkt, en heb ik Mijn getweakte Windows 7 HP installatie een aantal keer uitgevoerd, tot het lekker werkte.

Ik post hier mijn configuratie, misschien dat anderen hier wat aan hebben. Deze configuratie is geheel persoonsgebonden: hij voldoet aan mijn eisen voor mijn HTPC (deze som ik hieronder op) en daarom kan hij eigenlijk niet als een standaard worden gebruikt.

Wel Diagnostic Service Host (de problem troubleshooter)
Geen Disk Defragmenter (want, SSD)
Geen DHCP (Netwerk: IP Config moet je dus handmatig doen middels static IP)
Geen Homegroup (ik werk gewoon old skool met shares)
Geen Windows Search of Indexing (betekend dat je geen gebruik kunt maken van Windows' zoekfunctie in Startmenu of Explorer)
Geen Mediacenter (Ik gebruik XBMC)
Geen Security Center (dus geen Firewall, geen automatische updates, geen Defender, geen Gebruikersacountbeheer)
Geen Remote Desktop Protocol
Geen ondersteuning Smart Card
Geen Telephony of Fax
Wel Themes (Aero effecten zoals transparancy)
