K7TPro2A doet vreemd

Heb hier een Duron 700 (kleurtje erop) en een MSI K7TPro2A. Heb hem op 9x107 weten te krijgen met een fan op de chipset. Het vreemde is echter, dat 9x107 wel werkt en 9,5x100 een mooi piepfeest geeft. Kleuren is volgens mij wel goed gegaan, want 7,5 en 8,5 pakt ie ook.

OK here's my hypothesis:
When the K7T Pro2-A first boots up, it sets the multiplier, then the voltage, then the FSB. This might seem insignificant, however it is actually crucial to the failed multiplier settings. When the multiplier is set, it does not have the voltage the user wishes to feed the processor. Instead, it has 1.65v (in the case of Duron) and that definitely isn't enough to POST at, say, 900MHz. With more defaiult voltage we could get the Duron (or Tbird) to boot.
How do we get it to work?
Simple: Pencil the L7 bridges on the CPU's surface.
Here's my situation back in december when i first got this board. I had a duron 700 with FOP heatsink and every intention of trying for the "Big Gig". I went step by step though, first 750, then 800, the 850. However i started having problems at 900. Setting a higher FSB like 8.5x107 would boot perfectly stable, but why not 9.0x100? Again read above. Becuse it sets the FSB after the voltage, it has enough voltage to get the MHz set by FSBxMLT.
So by penciling your L7 bridges, you set the default voltage to 1.85 and effectively "unlock" the rest of the multipliers.

Mijn duron 750 wil nu op 1 GHz (10x100) in plaats van 900 MHz.

Hij draaide eerst ook vrolijk op 106x9
maar 9.5 x 100 wilde ook niet.

Bedankt voor de info, maar:
er zit een standaardkoeler van Norrod op die wel lekker koelt, maar waar ik geen izn in heb om hem er af te halen (BTW: Stressed met kast dicht is ie 40 graden, zelfde als met een superorb in een ander systeem van een week geleden).
Ten tweede is het mijn systeem niet.

Ook iets vreemds: ik kan alleen maar 7x t/m 12,5x kiezen...
