CES is over and it was a great show this year. We showed off our new Power Supply lineup; “NEX” which we are very excited about.
For the highest end 1500W model, we considered all aspects of the Power Supply to see how we can improve and differentiate from existing PSU’s on the market today. On this model you will see that we payed extra attention to the cable design, bundled software, and internal design even down to the number of PCB layers.
There are also other new features like a “dummy mode” which runs the PSU in auxiliary mode so jumping the 24pin power connector is a thing of the past, an overclock mode that will increase the maximum PSU output to 1650w, a “customizable” +12V rail design that lets you select the number of +12V rails. (not just a single or multiple) and a 100% modular cable design (there is also more to the cable design than just this, but we are not ready to show this yet…)
You can expect to see more details on the EVGA PSU lineup soon, in the meantime here are some of the key features on the EVGA NEX 1500W Gold:
Unfortunately, we have less information about the the other PSUs in the NEX lineup but what we do know is that they are composed of 650W, 750W and 1000W units that are all 80+ Gold certified and have modular connectors. Their feature sets will likely be substantially less than the flagship 1500W product but expect their prices to be substantially less as well. As the release date gets closer, EVGA has promised to send out some more information.
