Hoi GOT,

Dit is een guide die ik heb gemaakt voor een paar vrienden van me die veel Counter-Strike: Source spelen.
Ik dacht laat ik eens sociaal zijn en het delen met het algemene publiek!

Please note that this is a guide for a dedicated public server run from your house! Dont use it on a rental server!


Open the following ports on your modem/router to make your server public:
Dont know how? Check this site: Portforward

Both: 27015 - CSS Server
Both: 27020 - SourceTV

This pre set-up server contains the following:

• ESL Configuration (Latest 4.2.2 - Will start automaticly)
• CEVO Configuration (Has to be run)
• Zblock (Warmode ON + Lo3 possibility)
• Easy startupscript + Guardian
• Few changes have to be made
• CEVO Maps included
• SourceTV - Autorecords games when 2 people are on the server.
• All settings changable (Including the SourceTV name)

Start with unpacking the files to a drive of your choice.


When it's completed go to: drive:\srcds and edit the Start Warserver.bat file.


Change the paramaters of the 4 "set" lines that you find in the file

1. Servername
2. Maxplayers
3. Startmap
4. Location (Example: C:\) !!Dont forget the \ on the end!! - This is the driveletter you unpacked the files to. (If you unpacked it to a folder put it like so: C:\map\map2\)

This is the default file:



After saving the .bat file i recommend you make a shortcut of the Start Warserver.bat file and place it on your desktop.


Time for a first testrun

Start your server by running the shortcut you made to your desktop.
If it starts you should see something simular this:

Succesful Start
As you can see the server has started without any problems or errors. There are 2 windows open. One is the server itself, the other one is the guardian that looks out for crashes.

Failed Start
Please check all the steps mentioned above. Everything is fine? Please ask in here!

Your server is very blank but far from NOT ready to use. It just need some name changes.

Personalizing your server
Start with browsing to drive:\srcds\css\cstrike\cfg

And open the server.cfg file with note- or wordpad.

Change all the options between the \\\\\\\PERSONALIZE\\\\\\ tags.



Change the following items:

• Hostname
  To change the name of the server the players will see in game.
• Rcon Password
  To securely remote control your server while in game
• Server Password
  Password protect your server from people that are not allowed to join unless you give them the password you set here. (Leave blank if you dont want a password)
• SourceTV options
  Change the name of the TV and the message you get if you connect to your TV.
• Autorecord demo's
  Enable or Disable the option to automaticly save demo's of the matches you played on your server.

Finishing your server:
Save your changes and restart your server.
It should look like this:



Server commands:
There are a lot of commands for your server but these are very usefull if you wanna host a warserver without knowing the rest.

Before entering any commands please make sure you typed rcon_password <password> first!

code:

rcon zb_lo3 - Starts the match after 3 restarts.
rcon zb_warmode 0/1 - Enables or Disables the warmode of the server (Changing this will cause the server to drop all clients, because they have to rejoin again)
rcon zb_deadvoice 1/0 - Enables or disabled deadtalk
rcon changelevel <mapname> - Changes the current map
rcon <Any other servercommand> - You can always change any option by typin rcon <command>

Notes:

1. With zblock activated its not possible to spray decals anymore!
2. The guardian gives errors after starting up the server for the first time. This is nothing to worrie about, the server should startup fine after you changed your files to your own likings!
3. Printscreens are made on a dutch version of Windows 7.

I want to use my server for other purposes
I can only support you with the things mentioned above, sorry.

What if a plugin updates?

• Zblock updates automaticly
• ESL checks for updates but wont update it automaticly.
  If there is a update available on the ESL website download it and place it in the right folder. (Should be mentioned by the maker)

• CEVO is not a plugin but a file. You have to replace the new files with the old ones.
  If there is a update available on the CEVO website download it and place it in the right folder. (Should be mentioned by the maker)

My server is out of date
If your server runs out of date because steam updated it,run the update command like so:


Open up a commandprompt and type the following: (Do this fast by typing START+R -> CMD -> hit ENTER)

cd C:\ (Drive and maps where the srcds map is located)
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -verify_all
