Lenovo A1 Tablet

De Lenovo A1 is Lenovo's nieuwste tablet en is net uitgekomen. Er worden twee modellen uitgebracht met als verschil de opslagruimte, namelijk 2GB en 16GB. Met de A1 richt Lenovo zich op de budget tablets, aangezien de goedkoopste variant voor slechts 200 dollar of 1000 yuan in de winkel ligt.

De A1 wordt geleverd met Android 2.3 Gingerbread en is een "7 scherm, 1024*600, capacitief, 2GB of 16GB opslagruimte, offline GPS, WiFi, bluetooth. Nadeel is in mijn ogen de dikte en de Cortex-A8 single-core die gebruikt wordt, die is vrij oud.

De specificaties zijn in mijn ogen prima voor de prijs die wordt gevraagd. Ik ben zelf al een tijdje op zoek naar een goedkope tablet. Mijn neigde naar de Ainol NOVO8 Advance totdat ik deze tegen kwam. Hij is hier in China slechts enkele dagen uit. De resolutie van de A1 is lager dan die van de NOVO8, maar de batterijduur compenseert dat.

Ik wacht nog even op de eerste westerse reviews. Wat vinden jullie ervan?

Als je hem in China koopt, kun je hem dan op Engels zetten? Had elders gelezen dat je dan een menu krijgt van een mix Engels en Chinees. En ook dat alle Google Apps verwijderd zijn.

Zou je kort je gebruikerservaring kunnen geven? Ben benieuwd. En vooral naar de accuduur.

Je kunt android in engels zetten, via settings. Ik heb dat laten doen maar als je de icoontjes kent moet het zelf ook wel lukken. Veel applicaties blijven wel in chinees, dus app menu ook. Google apps en market ontbreken inderdaad, nog niet kunnen toevoegen. Accuduur durf ik niet veel over te zeggen, niks om me te vergelijken. Scrollen door apps gaat niet heel soepel, maar verdenk de lenovo launcher.

Zou je dit ding kunnen tetheren met een iPhone via Bleutooth of via USB?

En is dit ding te upgraden naar android 3.1 of is ie daar te traag voor?

update naar 3.1 gaat denk niet lukken, geen dual core. Zojuist wel een update gevonden waarin wel gapps zitten.

Als je hierbij het scherm draait, draait de inhoud van het scherm dan mee? Google Apps zitten toch standaard in de A1, had ik tenminste gelezen?

Ik heb ergens gelezen in een persbericht over A1 in India dat de batterij removable is, klopt dat?

Inhoud draait mee, er is ook een fysieke schuif voor rotation lock.
Mijn A1 komt uit china en had nog geen gapps. Er komt een andere versie naar europa volgens mij.
De india versie is ook iets ander, hierin zit nog een full size sd-slot.
Ik heb nog niet ontdekt hoe ik mijn tab open maak dus verwacht niet dat ik batterij kan wisselen. Maar ook dit kan per land anders zijn. Ik heb heb wel 16 GB storage ipv 2 GB

Dit vond ik bij XDA-developers:
Just picked up my new Lenovo A1 Tablet yesterday at Fry's! With a little elbow grease this thing rocks! I'm just going to go down a list of what Ive done to make it a sweet tablet.

1) Superoneclick 2.2 will root this baby just need to install adb drivers...easiest root to date.

2) Once it's rooted I installed LCD Density from market and set it to 200. Make sure you select killall and hit reboot.

3) Installed SetCPU from Market. I set it to Performance with the screen on then set it to conservative with the screen off 300mhz/300mhz. Make sure you hit the set to boot button. Once I did this it felt much faster than my Xoom. I havent tested battery life yet.

4) Installed Spare Parts from Market. Set the windows animations speed to fast and transition animations to fast. Makes a world of difference.

5) Installed LauncherPro! Get rid of the stupid Lenovo home screen!

6) I installed WidgetLocker Lockscreen. You can do the Honeycomb screen and re-size it to fit. Gives it a nice feel!

7) Installed the new Adobe Flash11 from market

Installed App2Sd and moved all my apps to my 4gig sd card and cleared cache.

9) Picked up a badass 7" case with a stand at OfficeMax! fits perfect! $30 http://www.officemax.com/technology/...^return_skus~Y The website only shows a 10" but they have a 7" version

10) Google Nav works great tethered to my phone via wifi. I'm downloading a offline Nav as we speak.

11) Charges Via USB!

12) Screen gets really bright at max. I just use Auto

13) Skype was working till I did the Lenovo update no video sound works fine. Front camera sucks back camera is good. To be honest I use my Samsung Galaxy2 for all my pictures.

14) As soon as I turned it on and connected to the internet it wanted to update. I don't know what the update is about but it was a huge file.

I'm just getting started with this tablet. I was torn between the Nook2 and Fire. What I love about this is its easy to root comes with Market and charges via usb. I installed Amazon Kindle and Google Books. Their is a new update to Amazon Kindle that makes the app look just like the fire lol.

Inmiddels staat hij bij 3 winkels te koop en is hij opgenomen in de pricewatch lijst. Ik heb hem van de week besteld. Ik ben benieuwd, dit word mijn eerste tablet en ik hoop dat hij iets rapper is dan mijn oude android tel.
ik moet zeggen dat ik voornamelijk de 16gb versie zie langskomen, is ook niet zo gek, de 2gb versie is een beetje aan de kleine kant qua opslag. Je moet er wel fatsoenlijk een filmpje op kunnen zetten als je het mij vraagt.
De ingebouwde GPS die op lang niet alle tablets standaard zit in deze prijsklasse vond ik een groot pluspunt naast de goede naam van Lenovo. Archos, Yarvik en Point of view zijn mij te onbekend en hoor ik te veel slechte dingen over.
Zodra ik hem een tijdje heb gebruikt zal ik een review plaatsen.
