-------------------------
Hello,
I recently installed 10.04 and now 11.04. Overall I am impressed and quite content with everything so far. But here are a few small issues:
- I noticed that I couldn't install 32bit version of 10.04 and 10.10, so I didn't even bother downloading 32bit for 11.04. So I use 64bit. The installer said there was an error, even before setting my timezone settings, and it aborted the installation. I use an old machine:
Athlon x2 3800, 2 GB DDR1 RAM, Geforce 7600GS agp, mobo: Asus a8v Deluxe (k8t800pro chipset).
Normally I would only install 64bit OS when having 4 GB RAM or more. It does seem to work fine on this machine.
- Evolution Mail is sloooooooooooow when send/receive.
When I press the send/receive button in Evolution, it says 'waiting....'. Well, waiting for what? It doesn't say. So I am waiting for it to finally send a simple text email of just a few lines of text. Everything does work though, so my settings are OK. I double checked settings.
[UPDATE] I also tested Claw.... same problem: slow. Status when checking says 'connecting'.... well my computer is already connected, no need to dial a number as in the old days [/UPDATE]
- 11.04 doesn't recognize my monitor (no input) when (re)booting until the login screen appears. 10.04 had no problem with this. 11.04 does recognize my monitor once the OS is loaded though... Not a real problem, but still weird.
- Can't boot when my external drive is attached and have USB Legacy Devices enabled in BIOS. So I disabled it and now booting works.
