[VSFTPD] Probleem met inloggen

Op dit moment heb ik VSFTPD als deamon geinstalleerd op mijn XBMC / Zotac mediaplayer. Ik wil namelijk van buiten af mijn media / apps kunnen downloaden.

Specs van de mediaplayer:

Ubuntu 10.x.x als OS (Xbmc live cd)
Dualcore Celeron
2 GB DDR 3
640GB 2,5 inch 5400rpm HD


Echter krijg ik het niet voor elkaar.

Ik maak gebruik van Window 7 home premium (clean install). Ik maak verbinding mijn mediaplayer op de volgende manier:

ftp://192.168.0.104

Ik krijg keurig het inlogscherm te zien. Waarbij ik de gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord invul. Helaas krijg ik dan de volgende melding:





Het vreemde is als ik via een SSH/Putty verbinding maak als FTP user dat ik zonder problemen kan inloggen.

Het betreft de gebruikersnaam ''xbmc'' die ik alle rechten heb gegeven chmod 777 in dit geval.

Iemand enig idee wat ik fout doe ?

Ik ken de VSFTPD daemon niet, maar moet binnen de FTP server niet ook je account rechten geven?

Hmmm volgens mij ligt het daar niet aan. Ik heb voor de zekerheid een FTP client op mijn laptop geinstalleerd (filezilla). Daarmee kan ik ook perfect alles mee bekijken?

Dan zal het inderdaad niet in de rechten zitten. Mogelijk dat de Win7 FTP client in een andere modus probeert te connecten. Kun je de logs van VSFTPD bekijken?

Hmmm het enige wat ik in de logfile kan bekijken is het volgende:

Het probleem is dat het lokaal wel goed werkt, maar als ik van buiten af alles probeer te benaderen (via 3G op telefoon), dan krijg ik ook elke keer Permisson Denied te zien.

Heb je nog een firewall o.i.d. op de server aanstaan?

Klinkt erg als een ACL achtig idee wat localhost wel toelaat, maar externe IP's niet. Ken vsftpd niet, maar waarschijnlijk moet je het daarin gaan zoeken.

Hmm helaas ik heb geen firewall in gebruik. Iemand anders misschien nog een oplossing?

Firewall op je client? Al wijzen de logfiles daar niet op.

Nope ook niet.. Heb alles wat met beveiliging te maken heeft uitgeschakeld...

Het vreemde is dat het met een FTP client wel goed gaat. Heb er nu twee getest: Filezilla en Flashfxp

post is je config file is, (etc/vsftpd.conf). Heb je vsftpd met een tutorial geïnstalleerd? zo ja welke?

edit: Een tutorial waar in mijn configuratie op heb gebaseerd is deze, die tutorial werkt vrijwel hetzelfde op Ubuntu.

Je geeft zelf de oplossing al. "Switching to ASCII mode, permission denied"

Controleer in je vsftpd.conf:

ascii_download_enable
ascii_upload_enable

Staan deze op YES of NO? NO is standaard. Deze moet op YES staan.

Heb je de daemon herstart? (/etc/init.d/vsftpd restart)

Bovendien lijkt mij regel 15 (listen=YESa) niet helemaal correct.

Whooo het is inmiddels gelukt! Ik heb een nieuwe configfile gedownload van de website en deze opnieuw aangepast.. Nu werkt het inmiddels wel weer ??? Erg vreemd allemaal maar bedankt voor de hulp!

mooi dat het is gelukt ik zie echter niet veel vreemds aan de conf file die je eerder postte, echter heb ik ook niet super veel ervaring hiermee. Misschien dat je nog de .conf file kan plaatsen die je nu gebruikt?

Ben toch wel benieuwd waar het aan lag.

Vreemd, ik zie het niet.

Ik ken VSFTPD niet, maar wat me opvalt, is dat passief FTP bij de configuraties afwijkt.
Volgens mij gebruikt Windows met Internet Explorer standaard het Passief FTP protocol.
Ik denk dat daar het probleem zat (pasv_enable=NO / YES)
