er staat nu win 3.1 op zou ik hem kunnen updaten naar 98?

Kort: Ja.

Lang: Wegkeilen man, oude troep

Besteed niet teveel energie aan verouderde hardware inderdaad.
Kijk eventueel eens of er een magere Linux, bijvoorbeeld Damn Small Linux op draait, dan kun je er tenminste nof iets mee doen.

Daar kun je XP haast nog wel draaien met een beetje tweakwerk. Wat je echter ook kan proberen ipv 98, aangezien die niet echt veilig is, is een lichte linux distro, bv puppy

Ja.

Maar topicstarts bestaande uit twee zinnen scoren hier niet zo hoog op de waarderingsmeter, dus ik stel voor dat je toch wat meer moeite gaat nemen bij het onderdeel eigen inzet alvorens je weer een topic opent.

In Het algemeen beleid staat uitgelegd waar een topic zo'n beetje aan moet voldoen, en ik denk dat je zelf ook wel inziet dat je huidige poging nou niet bepaald aansluit bij dat verwachtingspatroon
