Het is jammer dat de communicatie- of marketingafdeling van Dell niet weet dat het gebruik van 720p om een resolutie van een monitor in een notebook te beschrijven onzin is, maar hier zijn we toch op Tweakers.net? Dan noemen wij het toch een resolutie van 1366 bij 768 pixels (zie de tech specs op de Dell website, de term 720p suggereert een resolutie van 1280x720, wat het gebruik van de term een nog grotere blamage maakt dan het op zich al is)? Of praat ik hier nu onzin?
De term 720p-resolutie lijkt te zijn overgenomen uit de bron:De Adamo 13, met zijn 13,4"-beeldscherm met 720p-resolutie en led-backlight, kost inmiddels honderd dollar minder.
Ik neem aan dat de auteur zonder er bij stil te staan de term van de Dell website heeft overgenomen, maar laten we eens bekijken wat 720p ook al weer betekend. 720p is volgens het Wikipedia artikel:Super-thin, 13.4-inch 16:9 (high definition, 720p) white LED (WLED) display

720p beschrijft dus het materiaal, niet het beeldscherm. We hebben het hier over een monitor die is ingebouwd in een notebook, niet een HDTV waarbij het mogelijk is dat de HDTV alleen 1080i materiaal kan weergeven en geen 1080p.Progressive or noninterlaced scanning is a way of displaying, storing or transmitting moving images in which all the lines of each frame are drawn in sequence.
