80 gig + Maxblast veroorzaken problemen

Ik heb al een tijdje een 80 gig. harde schijf van Maxtor . Deze heb ik geinstalleerd met Maxblast van Maxtor want mijn ASUSP2B moederbord en BIOS herkenden het schijfje als een 32 gig.
Maxblast werkt wel goed en de harde schijf wordt nu herkend maar als mijn PC vastloopt en ik hem opnieuw laat booten, dan geeft hij eerst een scandisk en gaat hij daarna schijfoppervlaktecontrole doen. Bij een 80 gig duurt het een beetje lang . In de gewone BIOS uitzetten heeft geen zin omdat Maxblast de schijf dan ook niet meer ziet. Heeft iemand een oplossing hoe ik van die irritante schijfoppervlaktecontrole afkom?

Koop een ander moederbord, of flash deze, zodat ie 80gb schijven aankan!

BIOS heeft de nieuwste update gehad. Maar dan ziet ie em nog als een 32 gig. Ik moet Maxblast gebruiken. Een nieuw moederbord had ik ook wel kunnen verzinnen.....

Ik weet niet welk OS je runt maar bij Win9x werkt het volgende

Running Scandisk on Boot Up (Windows 9x)
Category: Files > MSDOS.SYS
If Windows 9x is shutdown incorrectly, or the turn power turned off without shutting down, the system will attempt to run Scandisk on the next boot. You can control whether Scandisk doesn't run, prompts whether to run, or runs automatically.

Change the attributes for MSDOS.SYS so it is not 'Read Only', MSDOS.SYS is found in the root directory of your C:\ drive. Open the file using Notepad or another text editor (not Microsoft Word or any word processor).

Change the value of 'AutoScan=' to:

AutoScan=0 : Scandisk is Disabled
AutoScan=1 : Scandisk Prompts First
AutoScan=2 : Scandisk Runs Automatically
Changes will take place on the next reboot.
Note: It is advisable to run Scandisk after an incorrect shutdown to avoid file corruption.

Note: This feature is only available on Windows 95 OSR 2 and greater.

Bedankt voor je posting Krypt. Ik gerbuik WIN98 sec. Jumpers anders gezet. 80 gig staat nu als secundairy master en nu geeft mijn schijf geen problemen meermbt schijfoppervlaktecontrole. .
