Marvell wil arm-chips voor servers / interpretatie-foutje?

Dit geloof ik niet zo, volgens Marvell in een ouder bericht zijn de quadcores op basis van de 500/600 serie:

Wie de 'Product overview' van de 310 serie leest, ziet 'computer pheripherals', maar niet echt servers of zo.

De 310 serie heeft de ARMv5 instructieset, de 5/600 serie heeft de veel modernere ARMv7 instructieset.

Maar dat stelt niet expliciet dat de tweede zin betrekking heeft op de eerste, het kan ook een 'losse' opmerking zijn. Zoals: "Pietje wil een snelle auto bouwen. Eerder dit jaar bouwde hij een zuinige tweetakt motor die in brommers kan." Het kan dat het tweede deel betrekking heeft op het eerste, maar het is niet logisch.

Het zou fijn zijn als iemand dat na zou kunnen vragen, of ik moet het zelf eens proberen misschien. Persoonlijk ben ik er best benieuwd naar.

Als je de quote iets uitbreidt, zie je het volgende.

Hieruit heb ik opgemaakt dat ze de Armada als basis hebben genomen ("we will springboard off that"), en van daaruit het aantal cores hebben verhoogd en het productieproces hebben verkleind.
