[BOINC] Geen verbinding mogelijk

Ik ben sinds een paar weken bezig met BOINC (Ik gebruik de client van worldcommuntygrid.com, later geupdate naar 6.10.8 maar nog steeds het logo van WCG). Ik krijg nu sinds een paar dagen de melding dat de client niet kan verbinden met de server en dat ik handmatig een verbinding in moet stellen. Wanneer ik bij Opties -> Verbindingen kijk zie ik geen verbindingen staan en kan ik er ook geen toevoegen. Op zowel de Help-sites van BOINC, SETI@Home en WCG kan ik niks vinden wat helpt. Ik heb al verscheidene dingen geprobeerd:

- World Community Grid-project verwijderen
- BOINC herinstalleren
- PC herstarten
- Router herstarten

Dit heeft allemaal geen effect. Ondertussen draait BOINC wel vrolijk door en heb ik nu al zo'n 20 projecten die klaar zijn om te rapporteren maar die dat niet doen. Als ik op 'project bijwerken' druk komt er na een tijdje ook 'communicatie uitgesteld tot 00:00:xx'. Wat ik nog niet geprobeerd heb, is het project opnieuw toe te voegen, maar als ik dit doe, ben ik al mijn resultaten die nog niet gerapporteerd zijn kwijt, en dat vind ik nogal zonde.

Hij zegt dus dat de project servers offline zijn, maar daar kan ik nergens een melding van vinden online.

Bij het Seti@Home project had (of heeft) men de afgelopen dagen server problemen.
Kijk of een ander project (bijvoorbeeld WCG) wel goed gaat.

Seti heeft inderdaad problemen.

Ze begonnen net voor 't weekeinde met problemen, blijkbaar zijn die nog niet opgelost al had dat wel de bedoeling moeten zijn.

Gargh! The science database on thumper went down at 2am due to a filled root partition. One of the raid arrays on thumper lost a drive at about the same time, and uploads are still too slow.

I've fixed the first problem, a hot spare automatically fixed number 2 and will be working on number 3 now.

Well, shoot. Right at the end of the work day yesterday the air conditioning unit failed. What's worse is that the cause is still a complete mystery. When the campus A/C techs came up in the early evening they just pressed the reset button and it came back to life.

But that was after a panicked fury of shutting down every server possible to save their lives. Eric was the first on the scene and smelled burned plastic, heard broken fans, and quickly started unplugging everything he could. I came up later after the A/C was on to get the web servers going again (so people could at least see we were still alive).

This morning rolled up our sleeves and surveyed the damage, which actually wasn't too bad. We definitely lost one UPS, and possibly a power supply in one of our file servers (though it seems okay for now). Eric's hydrogen survey server seemed to take the brunt of the damage, and he was ready to reinstall the OS on what disks remained visible to the system, when suddenly after the nth reboot all drives were visible again and all data was still intact. Well, that was a pleasant surprise.

Still, there was a bit of RAID and database recovery on various servers, which is why the project largely remained offline until the end of the day today. This is still going on, so we probably won't be fully back to normal until tomorrow morning at the earliest.

Ah, ik zie het nou ook. Ik was bang dat het aan mij lag, maar het ligt dus aan die servers. Ondertussen heb ik al meer dan 32 tasks voltooid die nog niet geupload zijn, dus zal straks wel 'n flinke flush worden. Maar nu neemt ie geen nieuwe tasks meer aan.
