[Vista] Verplaatsen map 'Application Data'

Hallo allemaal,

voor mijn studie moeten ik SPSS Statistics 17.0 installeren op mijn laptop. Maar bij de installatie van dit programma krijg ik de volgende foutmelding: Error 1320.The specified path is too long. Via de technical support van SPSS heb ik ontdekt hoe ik dit probleem op moet lossen, namelijk:

This problem has been reported to SPSS Development. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

This problem has most commonly been reported on Sony Vaio machines running Microsoft Vista , but there have been reports from other machine types as well.

The MSI 1320 error usually occurs when the installation folder (INSTALLDIR) the user is installing to is a mapped network drive, or has been substituted using the DOS 'SUBST' command. So as an initial diagnostic, please check to be sure this is not the case in your situation.

In the mean time, we apologize for the inconvenience and offer the following workaround:

Remove the "Application Data" shortcut (junction) from the "C:\ProgramData" directory:

1. Click on your Start button, select Computer

2. Choose the "Organize" drop-down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "Folder and Search Options"

3. Choose the "View" tab, select the following options, and click OK:

Select/Check "Show hidden files and folders"
De-select/Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"

Click OK.

4. Navigate to "C:\ProgramData"

5. Locate the "Application Data" shortcut

6. Click and drag the "Application Data" shortcut to another location. For example, your Desktop.

7. Install SPSS.

8. When the installation is complete, move the "Application Data" shortcut to its original location.

9. Click on your Start button, select Computer

10. Choose the "Organize" drop-down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "Folder and Search Options"

11. Choose the "View" tab, select the following options, and click OK:

De-select/Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders"
Select/Check "Hide protected operating system files"

Click OK.

Close the Window


If you have issues restoring the settings that were in place prior to the resolution process, please perform the following steps:

1. Click on your Start button, select Computer

2. Choose the "Organize" drop-down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "Folder and Search Options"

3. Choose the "View" tab, select the following options, and click OK:

Select the 'Do not show hidden files and folders' option.
Select the 'Hide protected operating system files' option.
Select the Apply button.
Select the OK button.
Close Computer window.

De eerste stappen zijn geen probleem, maar ik krijg met geen enkele mogelijkheid de map 'Application Data' verplaatst naar mijn Desktop! Weet iemand misschien een oplossing zodat ik SPSS alsnog kan installeren?

ze hebben het over een shortcut, dus ik gok dat je een shortcut naar app data moet maken en die op je bureaublad plaatsen?

De 'Application Data' is bij mij al een shortcut. Ik dacht zelf dat het misschien te maken zou hebben met bepaalde bevoegdheden of machtigingen om de map/shortcut te kunnen verplaatsen. Zou dat kunnen?

Ik heb onlangs SPSS18 op 2008R2 en Windows 7 geinstalleerd, dat gaf geen enkel probleem. Misschien kan je de licentie upgraden?

kan je niet SPSS 18 gebruiken?

Het zou toch vreemd zijn dat Technical Support een oplossing aanbiedt die helemaal niet mogelijk is? Verder maakt het niet uit welke versie van SPSS ik installeer, omdat ik bij iedere versie de melding krijg: The specified path is too long.

De beveiliging zal zeer zeker het probleem zijn. Krijg je geen melding als je de shortcut probeert te slepen? Je kan proberen om de shortcut te knippen/plakken op je desktop ipv te slepen.

Als andere optie zou je kunnen proberen om de shortcut te hernoemen naar 'Application Data Tijdelijk' of iets dergelijks, dat werkt misschien ook al wel.

Ik kreeg geen enkele melding bij het verslepen/verplaatsen van de shortcut. De shortcut blijft gewoon staan, en verschijnt niet op de andere locatie. Ik heb al geprobeerd om de beveiliging aan te passen via de eigenschappen van de 'Application Data', maar tot dusver geen resultaat.

Het hernoemen werkt overigens ook niet!

Wow ... het is gelukt om de shortcut 'Application Data' te verplaatsen met het programma "Unlocker" (http://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html). Nu even kijken of ik SPSS kan installeren!

SPSS is heel erg strict qua licensing, je kan niet heel gemakkelijk ff een andere installeren helaas Upgraden kost ook altijd geld, denk commercieel aan gemiddeld 2000 euro per named user

Yes, is idd via het programma UNLOCKER gelukt... vriendin ook weer blij....

Niet vergeten de symlink na installatie weer terug te zetten, anders krijgen andere applicaties die hun data daar al in hadden staan weer problemen
