Centos 5 DA custombuild mod_rewrite .htaccess 404 error

Beste,

Heb een vervelende situatie waarbij ik bijna een week niet heb kunnen oplossen.

Heb een heel simpel .htaccess bestand gemaakt

Wanneer ik op de (http://(ip)/~naam) pagina komt krijg ik volgende foutmelding:

Not Found

The requested URL /home/catak/public_html/signup.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Ik heb de volgende gedaan:

Ik dacht mod_rewrite is niet goed ingesteld. Door volgende commando heb ik gekeken of mod_rewrite was geladen: httpd -l en het was geladen.

Httpd.conf bestand bekeken AllowOverride staat op all.

error_log bestand volgende:

Iemand enige idee wat er fout gaat?

nouja als ik het zo lees dan kan hij dus de bestanden /home/catak/public_html/signup.php en /var/www/html/404.shtml niet vinden.

Klopt daar zitten de bestanden helemaal niet. Ik heb alleen niet door waarom daar wordt bekeken?

Heb je de documentroot wel goed staan in je virtualhost? Aangezien in je error_log je naar /var/www/html/... gaat en dat dus niet de bedoeling is.

Dit is mijn httpd.conf file
Hier staat wel document root.

Maar als ik dat verwijst naar gebruiker dan zal bij andere gebruikers ook niet werken wat moet dat worden?
