Processor in parkeerstand

Ik kom zojuist iets (voor mij) heel vreemds tegen. Ik heb een Intel Core i7 920 op een Asus P6T Deluxe en draai windows 7 x64. Wanneer ik taakplanner start en bij prestaties klik op "broncontrole" staan daar mijn 8 cores afgebeeld maar bij 4 daarvan (processor 1,3,5 en 7) staat "Parkeerstand ingeschakeld. Ook zie ik bij die cores bijna geen activiteit.... Ik heb in de bios en windows alle energiebesparende optie's uitgeschakeld. Kan iemand mij vertellen wat dat betekent en of dit zo hoort?

een 920 heeft maar 4 cores.. hij kan echter 4 virtuele cores gebruiken onder 'zwaar' gebruik...
waarschijnlijk zal dit niet het geval zijn geweest op het moment dat je de taakplanner tevoorschijn haalde?!

Ik denk dat je Core parking in actie ziet. Een groot deel daarvan wordt prachtig uitgelegd door (SysInternals legende) Mark Russinovich in dit of dit filmpje (weet even niet welke precies eerste, @32:15 tot 37:30).
