Windows 7 clients traag met aanmelden

Inmiddels al weer vorige maand kwam dan eindelijk Windows 7 uit. Omdat Windows XP toch op veel gebieden te kort schiet zoals bijvoorbeeld WiFi ben ik bezig met de migratie naar Windows 7.

Hier treed al gelijk een probleem op. Alle Windows 7 clients (zijn er nog maar 5) blijven 40 seconden wachten totdat het eindelijk het profiel probeert te laden.

Mijn eerste actie was een test OU aan te maken met 5 PC's en 1 gebruiker zonder GPO's (Group policy objects). De aanmeldtijd was dan nog maar 3 seconden.

Wanneer ik een leeg GPO maak die op de test gebruiker word toegepast blijft Windows 7 minstens 30 seconden hangen bij het aanmelden. Zelfs als de GPO maar 1 setting bevat zoals bijvoorbeeld het uitschakelen van het configuratiescherm blijft het hangen.

Ik heb verbose logging ingeschakeld voor zowel netlogon als grouppolicy. Echter kan ik daar niets uit op maken. De logs bevatten soms een gat van +- 30 seconden waarin niets lijkt te gebeuren.

Zoals je aan het log kunt zien, zie je alleen 3 a 4 seconden. Dat is dan ook de duur dat nodig is om aan te melden wanneer ik de GPO verwijder. De wachttijd is dus naar alle waarschijnlijkheid na dit log.

Ondanks dat er amper wachttijd zit in het verwerken van de GPO heeft het er toch mee te maken. De aanmeld is aanzienelijk sneller wanneer geen GPO word gebruikt.

Heeft iemand enig idee hoe ik er achter kan komen waar deze wachttijd nu in zit ?

De rootdomeincontroller is overigens een Windows 2008 SP2 enterprise server. Waar de clients op aanmelden is een Windows 2003 SP2 server.

Ik had hetzelfde met onze winows 7 clients. Bij mij hielp het om gewoon tcp autotuning uit te zetten op de clients.

Ik heb het net geprobeerd. Helaas maakt dat geen verschil uit.

Volgens mij zet het volgende: netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled Autotuning voor alle adapters uit... Het aanmeld probleem treed overigens zowel draadloos als via de kabel op.

Voor zover ik begrijp heb je dus buiten de windows 7 test clients alleen xp clients ?
Heb je al eens getest met een windows vista client, als dat ook te lang zou duren dan is deze fix misschien iets:
An update to turn off default SNP features is available for Windows Server 2003-based and Small Business Server 2003-based computers

Ik weet niet hoe je deze migratie precies test, maar het klink alsof je in een live omgeving bezig bent.
Het is denk ik verstandig om te kijken of je het probleem kan laten voorkomen in een kleine test omgeving met een aparte server dan kan je deze fix zonder problemen testen.
Ook zou ik op de 7 clients zaken zoals bijvoorbeeld ip v6 uit zetten traag aanmelden kan ook worden veroorzaakt door netwerk problemen bijvoorbeeld iets in je dns waar vista / 7 anders mee omgaat als xp.
Hoewel ik denk dat netwerk problemen in de praktijk wel mee zal vallen maar ja je moet alles proberen he .

Nee, ik heb ook Windows Vista clients. Niet veel. Een totaal van 8 clients op een totaal van 450 machines.

1 Vista client gebruikt dezelfde server als de Windows 7 clients. Op deze machine heb ik geen aanmeld problemen.

Ook kan ik me niet vinden in de symptomen in de lijst. Er is geen sprake van een trage netwerkverbinding. Ik kan met gemak 60MB/s halen over de kabel (voor een laptop met 2.5inch HD is dit toch echt snel) . RDP connectie's zijn geen probleem, en er zijn geen RPC-communicatie problemen. De user en systeemlog van zowel client als server zijn vrij van fouten.

Alles zou dus goed moeten zijn, toch blijft Windows 7 een lange tijd hangen tijdens het aanmelden wanneer ik een GPO toepas op de gebruiker Dat terwijl de grouppolicy log laat zien dat het binnen 5 seconden word verwerkt.

Er is dus niemand die me hier een antwoord op kan geven ?!

Windows 7 is volstrekt waardeloos zoals het nu werkt. Ik heb andere systemen geprobeerd en die hebben hetzelfde probleem. Geen errors in de Group Policy log maar heeft wel 4 minuten nodig om aan te melden.

Overigens heb ik Rhoaming Profiles uitgezet. Het probleem zit hem dus echt in het verwerk van de GPO's.

Ja dat was een probeersel om het 1 en ander op te lossen. Het heeft helaas niets met dit probleem te maken.

Ik loop tegen exact 't zelfde probleem aan met Windows 7... Windows Vista logins gaan soepeltjes als boter, maar zodra ik een Windows 7 machine probeer aan te melden, zit er een random vertraging in van >5 minuten.. echt ZWAAR irritant, en niet verkoopbaar aan de rest van het personeel wat er mee moet werken.

Ben al aan het inlezen geweest op GPO en Windows 7, maar kon er maar weinig relevants over vinden...

Als je de computer in een OU zet zonder policy's en block policy inheritance, is het dan nog traag? In de openingspost stond er dat als je ook maar een policy met een setting actief maakte, dat het aanmelden gelijk een stuk langer duurde. Zijn er eigenlijk aparte .adm files voor Windows 7 of zaken die je moet doen voordat je Windows 7 computers in je domain kan hangen?
