Both a family man and a man's man, Jim is the all-American guy. He's fiercely devoted to his beautiful wife, Cheryl, and his five kids, including tween siblings Ruby, Gracie and Kyle, as well as twin baby boys Gordon and Jonathan. He loves his family but continues to test his wife's patience with his stubborn antics. He also sometimes takes for granted his brother-in-law and best friend, Andy, who doggedly covers for Jim's constant scheming and continues his own search for the perfect woman.

Hoofdpersonen

Jim (Jim Belushi) Jim and his wife, Cheryl, have five lovely kids, Ruby, Gracie, Kyle and twins, Gordon and Jonathan. He has his own construction company called 'Grounds Up' with his brother-in-law, Andy. In his spare time he's in the garage with his blues band. Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith) She is a loving wife and mother to three kids, Ruby, Gracie, Kyle and now the new arrival of their twin boys, Jonathan and Gordon. When Jim is laying, she sees right through him and catches him in the acted, but in the end they always says "I LOVE YOU"! Andy (Larry Joe Campbell) He is the brother-in-law, who keeps Jim out of trouble most of the time from Cheryl. He is a Junior partner with Jim in a construction company called 'Grounds Up'. In his spare time along with Jim is playing keyboards for the blues band. Dana (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) She is the loveable sister-in-law, who has trouble finding boyfriends and works for an agency. She finally finds Mr. Right, who is a doctor. His name is Ryan Gibson, and he asks her to marry him and later has a son. Who Jim helps deliver because Ryan was gone. Ruby (Taylor Atelian) She is the oldest daughter on the show. From the series premiere until now, she has really grown up on the show. She just became a teenager, turning 13 years old. Gracie (Billi Bruno) She was the middle child until the twins were born. Like Ruby, she also grew up on the show. You can tell from seeing her when the series premiere. Kyle (Conner Rayburn) He is the youngest child on the show and the only son. Now, he's the big brother due to Jim and Cheryl having twin sons, Gordon and Jonathan.

Dit is een topic voor nieuwe afleveringen, dat zijn dus de afleveringen die in de U.S. worden uitgezonden. Je mag hier dus naar hartelust babbelen zonder spoiler tags. Dus als je nog niet up-to-date bent met de serie, let er dan op dat er spoilers kunnen staan. Alle dingen over de nog niet in Amerika uitgezonden episodes wel tussen spoiler tags, dus ook quotes van nieuws items.

Dit is wel een geinige serie, kijk het altijd samen met mijn vriendin onder het eten op Veronica. Maar ik ben nou niet echt actief bezig met volgen t/m de laatste seizoenen. Als ik de foto's van die kids zo zie dan zou ik haast denken dat ze bij Veronica zo'n beetje permanent in seizoen 3/4 aan het uitzenden zijn ofzo...

Erg typisch wel... je komt bij Veronica echt vaak eps tegen waarvan je denkt: "Hey, die heb ik pas geleden ook nog gezien!". Blijft toch jammer dat die zakkenwassers niet gewoon fatsoenlijk series kunnen uitzenden.

Dit is toch het laatste seizoen van According to Jim, daarna komen de andere 7 seizoenen op DVD uit en kan je ze rustig op eigen gemak bekijken in de goede volgorde.

Eén van mijn favo sitcoms, waarbij ik geregeld hardop moet lachen!

En toen waren daar de laatste twee afleveringen van het laatste seizoen van According to Jim. Een redelijke season en series finale waardoor je geen wroeging hebt/krijgt dat er geen nieuw seizoen komt

Er zijn dus mensen die deze duizend in een dozijn sitcoms echt leuk vinden. Anders zouden ze natuurlijk niet uitgezonden worden maar het concept; (meestal niet al te snuggere) vader met overgewicht, "lekkere" vrouw, kinderen en natuurlijk de domme vriend (voor simpele comic relief) komt mij zo langzamerhand de neus uit. De enige serie die dit format volgt maar zo nu en dan nog leuk is is naar mijn mening king of queens. Daar zie je de grappen iig niet al van mijlen ver aankomen.

Ook deze serie volg ik. Net zo goed dat ik King of Queens een tijd gevolgd heb, Dharma & Greg, Will & Grace, Two and a Half Men, Friends, Offspring noem ze maar. Ik zit gewoon vanaf 19:00 t/m 20:30 tv te kijken en dan ga ik weer wat anders doen. En zoalas ebborazor zegt, tis inderdaad een dertien in een dozijn serie, maar dat maakt me niet uit: gewoon elke dag op vrijdag na vermakelijke televisie voor 1,5 uur

Als er dan toch een serie is die ik pas echt dertien in een dozijn vind is married with children. Was paar jaar terug op tv, keek die ook maar alles bij elkaar vind de series tegenwoordig leuker. En wat kan je er verder over zeggen: me likes sit coms. Is gewoon een goede formule, pak het standaard concept, gooi er net wat andere types in en et voila zat mensen die de serie zal volgen inclusief mijzelf.

Maar als het laatste seizoen dus uitgezonden is, welk seizoen heeft Veronica dan nu te pakken? Af en toe dan stop ik met het volgen van series op bepaalde tijden en dan na een half jaar zie je plots weer afleveringen die je allang en breed eerder al zag.
