[Nokia 5300] Opera Mini 4.2 werkt niet...

Ik heb een Nokia 5300, met Symbian S40, en Opera Mini 4.2.
Operator is Proximus (België) met de laatste settings.

Het probleem is dat ik dus op GEEN ENKELE manier op het internet kan komen met Opera Mini, die geeft steeds:

"Opera Mini"
"Installeren..."
"Selected profile: Px Live"

En dan:

"De verbinding kan niet worden gelegd. Controleer uw instellingen van uw Provider."

Maar het gekke is dat ik met de gewone browser van Nokia perfect op internet kan surfen !
En die gebruikt hetzelfde Acess Point.
Verder werkt Opera Mini wel perfect op mijn Samsung GSM, met dezelfde SIM kaart.
En Google Maps geeft ook een connection-timeout op de Nokia.

Ik heb de laatste instellingen van Proximus gekregen, dus dat is in orde.
In het Opera Mini 4 topic zijn er een aantal mensen die hetzelfde probleem hebben.

Kan je ergens in je Nokia iets vinden over een 'JAVA profiel' ? Misschien moet je daar nog iets instellen.

Nee, nergens iets over te vinden.
Ik heb wel al liggen klooien met de rechten van de Opera Mini applicatie, ik dacht dat het programma misschien te weinig rechten zou hebben.

Ik kan echter enkel kiezen voor 'Vraag één keer en othou deze beslissing' voor 'Internet-toegang'.
Hij vraagt het echter elke keer.

Firmware van m'n GSM is ook de allerlaatste, versie 7.0.

Heb ik juist gedaan, maar dat maakt geen verschil.
Ik heb ook al oudere versies geprobeerd, en versies met een ander certificaat, maar het maakt niets uit.

Volgens mij heeft het toch met de rechten van de toepassing te maken, want op mijn Nokia E60 werkt het prima, met dezelfde SIM-kaart en instellingen.

Even though I had a working data plan, I would get message saying "Unable to connect" or "Needs a working Internet connection" or something similar. En daar staat Proximus in België niet bij.
Nu heb ik in het bijhorende forum, hier, gevonden dat je Proxy settings etc. nodig hebt.

Echter heb ik geen flauw idee waar ik die instellingen kan vinden, en al helemaal niet hoe ik ze in de .prov file kan coden.

Using JAVA applets with a proxy server on Nokia Series40 v2 and v3 phones.

INTRODUCTION:
In its recent versions of the Series40 OS (v2 & v3), Nokia has removed the ability to specify a proxy server associated with an access point.
Therefore, those with WAP network plans (such as TMobileWeb users) are unable to use JAVA programs that require internet access
(such as Opera Mini, Google Maps, ...).

However, Nokia does allow users to create a provisioning document on their computer.
This document, created in wbxml, specifies an access point along with a proxy.
The S40 phone recognizes the configuration settings in the document and allows the JAVA midlet to use those instead,
thereby allowing the midlet to access the proxy.

The files included here provide some sample xml documents, and the associated provisioning (.prov) files.

QUICK START:

1: Transfer the "NokiaJAVAProxy.prov" file to your phone using Bluetooth.
On a Mac this means sending the file via "Send File..." (and NOT with "Browse Device...").
On Windows use a program such as BlueSoleil (http://www.bluesoleil.com) to transfer the file using object push (and NOT with file transfer).

2: The phone will recognize the configuration settings, and will prompt you to save them.
Don't worry if it says "no supported applications".

3: Go to Settings->Configuration->Default Config. Settings, and change the default config to [the name of the configuration we just loaded].

That's it! JAVA midlets like Opera Mini, Google Maps, MGMaps, etc... should work now.

CUSTOMIZATION:
If you need to specify different proxy settings (for other networks), you will first have to download and compile libwbxml
from http://libwbxml.aymerick.com . This download includes a command line program called "xml2wbxml".

Edit the "NokiaJAVAProxy.wml" xml file to use your proxy settings.
Convert that to wbxml using "xml2wbxml NokiaJAVAProxy.prov NokiaJavaProxy.wml".
Nokia provides documentation for its xml tags, which is available at

A: Calm down. Go to Web->Settings->Configuration Settings->Configuration and select the correct configuration for WAP access.
You can have Nokia or your operator send these settings to your phone if you need them.
