Al jaren maak ik gebruik van de gratis diensten van mail2web.com. Hun gratis dienst biedt ook ondersteuning voor synchronisatie met mijn Windows Mobile device via ActiveSync "over-the-air". Hierbij krijg ik via push technologie mijn emails, worden mijn contactpersonen gesynchroniseerd en zo ook mijn agenda.
Waarom is dit handig?
Voornamelijk als ik mijn Windows Mobile device opnieuw flash dan hoef ik alleen maar weer te syncen en heb ik al mijn e-mail, contactpersonen en afspraken weer in mijn telefoonstaan. Daarnaast kun mail2web.com ook gebruiken om mail uit je andere e-mailboxen te aggreren, maar daar maak ik alleen maar gebruik van voor e-mailadressen die ik zelf niet meer actief gebruik.
Helaas stopt mail2web.com 1 mei 2009 met gratis aanbieden van ondersteuning voor ActiveSync en zal dit vervangen worden door abonnement van $4,95 p/m. Dit is een klein bedrag en het er wel voor over. Maar... ik blijf een hollander en zou het liefste niets anders betalen. Daarom ben ik gestart met een zoektoch naar een andere gratis aanbieder van webmail/agenda/contactpersonen met ActiveSync ondersteuning. Native voor WindowsMobile. Dus geen omweg via google sync tools etc.
Nu blijkt dit lastiger dan gedacht en ben daarom benieuwd naar jullie ervaringen met andere providers van deze diensten. Zowel gratis als betaalde.
