hey guys, (hope engels is ok)
I got a T400 recently and have noticed a high-pitch noise coming from the left and right sides of the notebook. I have done quite a bit of reading and it seems to be caused by vibrations from low-quality components on the motherboard (capacitors, coil inductors).
I have tried using utilities like RMClock to adjust the power settings, and force the CPU to stay active- this does not help. It seems the more use it gets the more I hear it. If I have 30 tabs open in Firefox, for example, is a sure way to initiate it.
Someone suggested getting different adhesives or coatings to put on these coils or capacitors to insulate them better and stop the vibrating. Does anyone here have any experience with this? Where can I find these pastes or adhesives?
I'd send it back but it's a huge hassle now since I got it in the US and now have it here with me (Arnhem).
