msi x48c platinum Virtualization Technology

Het is mij sinds kort opgevallen dat mijn nieuwe moederbord type : msi x48c platinum niet eens de optie bied in de bios om Virtualization Technology aan te zetten.

Je zou zeggen dat een moederbord van zo'n 200 euro dat best mag ondersteunen. Ook de laatste bios versie 7.2 bied geen oplossing. Wie heeft dit probleem ook of weet een oplossing.

ps mijn intel 6600 proc heeft deze techniek wel

Het ziet er inderdaad naar uit dat het bord geen VT lijkt te ondersteunen, maar dat het wel aan de praat te krijgen is.

Solved!!!

Well, I finally solved my issue. NO thanks to MSI BTW. After submitting a tech support request, I was told that vanderpool is enabled by default and that there is NO way to enable or disable the feature in the BIOS. However, my VT was disabled. I tried reverting to older bios settings and no go, it wouldn't work. I tried using the BIOS reset button on the back of the board, it would reset most bios settings but did not re-enable vanderpool. So as a last ditch effort before the dreaded and painfully slow RMA process, I disconnected the power, pull the batter and discharged the board. 30 seconds later i re-inserted the battery and plugged it back in. Viola, I now have virtualization enabled. There is still no way to change this setting in the bios, but at least it is ON now! If any MIS'ers happen to read this, PLEASE GIVE USERS THE OPTION TO ENABLE OR DISABLE THIS FEATURE. FROM A SECURITY STAND POINT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO ENABLE AND DISABLE THIS SETTING AT MY DISCRESSION!

We verwachten op GoT dat je zelf eerst wel wat moeite steekt in het oplossen van je probleem. Bovenstaande was de 2e hit op google (eerste hit was een spaans macforum, wellicht dat het daar ook in staat, maar dat heb ik niet bekeken ). Omdat je in je topic niet vermeldt wat je gevonden hebt en al hebt geprobeerd gaat dit topic op slot.
