wel wifi connectie, maar geen ping met router

Hallo,

Mijn probleem is het volgende:
Een Pc (PC1) krijgt wel wireless connectie met de router, maar ik kan de router niet pingen, laat staan externe websites. Ik krijg dus ook geen connectie via de browser met de router noch met websites. De PC1 krijgt wel van de router via DHCP keurig een goed IP adres toegewezen, subnetmask en de hele riedel. Dat gaat goed. Signaal is excellent.
De machine ziet er alsvolgt uit:
- windows XP Professional SP3
- Linksys WMP300N client PCI adapter - Laatste drivers
- Firewall staat uit, antivirus staat uit.
- Een complete kale installatie van XP, verder geen software geinstalleerd nog.

Verbinding met Netgear DG834N V1 modem/router.
- Encryptie via WPA-PSK en TKIP
- Uniek channel in de buurt, dus geen andere wireless modems op dat channel
- SSID op beide configuraties identiek, encryptie methode idem als ook de key (uiteraard)

Het vreemde is dat drie andere computers, namelijk 2 laptops met Vista en 1 PC met windows XP Professional SP3 (PC2 - identieke windows XP) wel wireless werken op de router. Deze PC2 met XP verbind met een linksys WMP54G PCI adapter. Zet ik deze adapter in de PC1 dan werkt die PC wel, kan wel pingen en heeft wel internet.

Een paar opmerkingen:
- De software van de Linksys adapter geeft aan dat er een perfect signaal is voor wireless en dat er een perfecte verbinding is met Internet (?)
- De router laat zich pingen door de laptops en PC2.
- Er wordt geen Mac filtering gedaan op de router, waardoor bepaalde NIC's worden tegengehouden. (er is ook een perfecte wireless verbinding volgens de software)
- De IP range is groot genoeg (ca 240 adressen) voor 4 PC's, dus dat kan geen beperking zijn. (hij krijgt ook gewoon een ip adres)
- Als ik geen encryptie aanzet, dus het wireless signaal gewoon open zet, krijgt de PC1 wel een ip nummer maar is pingen met de router onmogelijk.
- Het zit hem dus niet alleen in de XP versie van PC1, want met de linksys adapter uit PC2 werkt het wel.
- Als ik PC2 uitzet, werkt PC1 nog steeds niet, dus dat maakt niet uit.
- Als ik PC1 aan de kabel direct hang aan de router, werkt het prima, krijg het alle goede ip nummers, kan er gepingd worden en is er Internet.
- Een statisch ip adres toewijzen aan PC1 werkt wel om verbinding te krijgen met de wireless router, maar pingen gaat niet, laat staan internet.
- Als ik de router configuratie kijk zie ik PC1 als deze een statisch ip adres heeft gekregen, niet genoemd bij verbonden apparaten. Alle overige computers worden wel genoemd als ze verbonden zijn.
- Alle PC's, uitgezonderd PC1, hebben bij het intypen van ipconfig /all dezelfde subnetmask, DNS en default gateway en hebben keurig een IP adres binnen de range toegewezen gekregen, oplopend vanaf het eerste nummer in de range.

Edit 10-9-08: Als PC1 als enige computer aanstaan, werkt de wireless verbinding prima. Dus er is een conflict met de andere wireless verbindingen op de router?


Ik hoop dat deze sitiuatie een beetje duidelijk is en dat iemand een idee heeft wat hier aan de hand is?

Zeker weten dat je een 'echt' IP-adres krijgt (wat begint met 192.168, 172.iets of 10) en niet een zelftoegekend 169.254-adres?

Ja, het is een ip adres uit de range.

Er is nog iets meer duidelijk geworden, namelijk dat als alle andere PC's en laptops uitstaan, het allemaal wel werkt! Dus blijkbaar is er een conflict met het toekennen van een verbinding als de twee vista laptops aanstaan.

Maar dat conflict bestaan niet met PC2 als beide Laptops aanstaan, en dat conflict is er ook niet met PC1 als de wireless netwerk kaart uit PC2 in PC1 geïnstalleerd wordt. Dus de combinatie van de netwerkkaart uit PC2 en de Vista laptops werkt wel, maar met de nieuwe Wireless netwerkkaart en de twee vista laptops werkt niet.

Goede nieuws is dat de wireless netwerkkaart WMP300 dus prima werkt.

De laatste (PC1) veroorzaakte problemen, maar lijkt nu soms wel te werken. Hij staat hier met ip config als hij goed werkt. Wellicht zien jullie in de settings waarom hij soms dus wel kan connecten met wifi maar niet kan pingen met de router?

volgens mij heeft dat met het ipv6 protocol te maken...

Het is verstandig om het ipv6 protocol gewoon lekker uit te zetten bij in de eigenschappen van je netwerkadapter.

Ok, thanks, zal het protocol uitzetten. Kan dit ook invloed gehad hebben op het niet verkrijgen van een ip adres, of is het gewoon om mogelijke andere conflicten te voorkomen?

Ik gok eerder dat het vanuit de tunnel driver komt van Windows Vista. Zolang het toch alleen maar "vanuit" de computer zelf wordt gebruikt dan is het toch geen probleem, gezien het een ander netwerksegment is dan je thuisnetwerk, namelijk een host-only network (op jou computer, en niet er buiten?!).

Je zit in een ander netwerksegment (achter een router), dus we hebben sowieso niet veel aan deze adressen. Echter is het wel handig om in ieder geval te weten of een MAC adres toevallig dubbel wordt gebruikt op je WIFI kaarten. Als 2 wifi kaarten toevallig het zelfde MAC gebruiken (dit wordt gedaan door "goedkopere" merken, zodat ze niet per chip een ander macadres hoeven in te bakken), dan kan dat rare gevolgen hebben, conteroleer of dit het geval is.

IPv6 uitzetten is sowieso onzin, en anders hebben we over 2 jaar weer een topic "help mijn internet doet het niet" omdat je IPv6 uitstaat. IPv6 gaat de standaard worden, of je wil of niet. Het is puur voor de toekomst dat het al aanstaat.

Thanks, Nee, de wireless adapters hebben niet dezelfde Mac adressen.

Zie hieronder het hele verhaal nogmaals, maar dan met Mac adressen (ik dacht better safe than sorry, wist niet of het gevoelige info was

Ik heb eerst even de mac adressen op een rijtje gezet, daarna volgt het hele ipconfig /all verhaal.
De Vista laptops hebben wel eenzelfde Mac adres voor een "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* " . geen idee of dat kwaad kan, echter die twee laptops hebben nooit conflicten met het netwerk.

Als de draadloze verbinding wel tot stand komt, maar geen goed ip adres verkregen kan worden, krijgt de Desktop 1 het volgende ip adres: 169.254.124.92 (vreemd?)

Is het probleem niet wellicht dat je de kaart ook in een andere PC hebt geprobeerd en daardoor de MAC-adrestabel in de war raakt? Je kan eens proberen de router een paar minuten uit te zetten, dan zou hij die moeten legen. Anders kun je dit wellicht handmatig doen.

Het is waarschijnlijk (klaarblijkelijk?) een hardware issue geweest, want ik heb een andere netwerkkaart geinstalleerd in PC1 en nu werkt het probleemloos. Jammer dat ik het probleem niet heb kunnen vinden om het op te lossen. Wel heel fijn dat het nu wel werkt!
