Mapopties via GPO?

Hoi,

Is het mogelijk om via een GPO het "automatisch naar netwerkmappen en -printers zoeken" uit te zetten?

Hier is reeds het een en ander of gepost, onder andere:
[XP] Layout netwerkomgeving wijzigen?

Ik citeer daar uit: "1 - Extra > mapopties > automatisch naar netwerkmappen en -printers zoeken uitzetten.

2 -En het strippen van je network neighborhood kun je via een policy doen,
OU > GPO > User configuration > Administrative templates > Desktop > do not add shares from recently opened documents to My Network Places"

Is 1 - en 2 - nou hetzelfde? Want 1 - wil ik graag centraal uitrollen en 2 - Het onderkopje "desktop" staat niet bij mijn console.

Volgens How To Disable Automatic Search for Network Printers and Folders in Windows XP moet het wel mogelijk zijn. "Deze functie is uitgeschakeld . . . als een beheerder de functie heeft uitgeschakeld via Groepsbeleid"

Thanks for prompt update!

Please excuse for my misunderstanding. You may disable the function via the
following method on individual Windows XP in Workgroup environment based on
320138. However, I have performed lots of research, it proves that this
function is enabled only when your computer is in workgroup-mode and not
logged on to a domain. If you are joined to a domain, this functionality is
disabled. For now I am wondering that the function is still enabled in your
domain environment as you said. Based on my research on the registry, the
function "Disable Automatic Search for Network Printers" mentioned in
320138 can tweak the registry value data of NoNetCrawling as the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advance

Value name: NoNetCrawling

Based the above information, If this function still enable when the Windows
XP is member of a domain, please let me know if all Windows XP experienced
this issue and I suggest you disjoin and rejoin the domain. Then check to
see the status.

Dat is niet hetzelfde nee.

In een werkgroep (standalone) XP install zorgt die NetCrawl ervoor dat automagisch alle shares die in (bijvoorbeeld) je thuisnetwerk zichtbaar zijn opgenomen worden in je 'netwerk omgeving'.

"Do not add shares from recently opened documents to My Network Places"
betekent dat als je tóch een share rechtstreeks opent via \\server\share dat deze niet automagisch in My Network Places of het nederlandse equivalent daarvan wordt opgenomen.
(wat je normaal gesproken via 'netwerk lokatie toevoegen' doet).
