Momenteel probeer ik een Eminent EM4456 PCMCIA kaartje aan de gang te krijgen op een oud laptop-je (een Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDT met Windows 2000, PCMCIA sloten werken allebei want ik heb 2 nog oudere kaartjes en die worden direct herkend).
Dit lukt echter niet, het kaartje wordt niet herkend door Windows 2000 en ook niet door de setup software die meegeleverd is.
Het kaartje heeft een 32-bit CardBus slot nodig. Volgens de Toshiba website heeft de laptop het volgende:
EXPANSION SLOTS (All models)
Two Stacked PC Card Slots Yes: Holds two - 5mm PC Cards Type II or one - 10.5mm PC Card Type III.
Support Standards Yes: Supports 32-bit, 3.3V PC CardBus cards and 16-bit, 5.0V PC card standards. Bron: Toshiba.com
Hieruit maak ik op dat 32bit ondersteund wordt, echter ik krijg het niet aan de gang...
Mijn mening wordt gesterkt door de volgende post op een ander forum:
Toshiba still has all the specs for that laptop on their site. Go to toshiba.com and dig around. It takes some clicking to get through their pages, but it's there in a nice pdf format. Lots of downloads and drivers and stuff should you need it. I have a 460CDT and love it. Hope you will too. Mine has 32-bit slots. Watch out for huge package programs, and also for win95 compatability. Bron: Vintage-computer.com.
In Windows 2000 Device Manager zie ik PCMCIA adapters: Intel PCIC compatible PCMCIA controller staan (goed werkend). In mijn BIOS kan ik kiezen voor 16bit (lijkt me niet logisch) of voor PCIC compatible (lijkt me logischer).
Kan iemand mij hier misschien mee helpen?
