Ik heb besloten om maar gewoon mijn vraag die ik op de steam forums gesteld heb hier te copy/pasten, het is nogal een verhaal namelijk... Op steam forums overigens geen antwoord gehad 
I dont think this is limited to just TF2 since i remember having the same problems when i tried the Insurgency mod for HL2 a while ago.
I notice that when i start TF2, it refreshes the server list but i dont see anything happening. If i stop and refresh all then i see the servers starting to appear.
Then the problem is that if i want to connect to a server, it takes 30-60 seconds for most servers to go through "sending client info" and "getting server info" (or something, dont remember the exact words).
Then when i finally DO get in, a lot of times i will have the text "connection problems" in red in the top-right of my screen. Im unable to do anything and get kicked out. After trying like 10 servers i can find one that works with a lot of luck.
Im using a freshly reinstalled winxp with latest updates, windows firewall disabled, no other anti-virus or firewalls. Connection is DSL and is perfect, around 13msec ping to my provider and no packetloss. Verified integrety of steam game cache, and 0% fragmentation. All drivers are up-to-date, including motherboard drivers. Computer is an amd x2 with 8600.
Anyone got a clue what could be causing this? As i said i had the exact same problems with the insurgency mod in a previous install. A fresh install didnt change anything for me.
