[OpenSuSe 10.3] kdetc --> ruis

Hallo,

Na het aanschaffen van mijn Hauppauge 500-PVR (2* een 150 op een plankje) ben ik op zoek naar het juiste OS om de kaart aan de praat te krijgen. Mijn keuze is gevallen op Suse 10.3, dit op aanraden van: http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Howto:Suse

Mijn kaart wordt nu goed herkend en werkt (een beetje), via kdetv kan ik wel (met veel storing) teletekst kijken maar voor de rest is het alleen ruis. Ik heb de freq. erbij gepakt van mijn zenderindeling en deze kloppen.

kdetv (en meeste andere tv-kijk-progsels) weet niet wat mpeg2 is...

Je kunt kmplayer proberen. Die kent tv en mpeg2, maar is verder niet echt meest prettige programma...

Of MythTv, maar dat is weer een heel ander type programma...

In hoeverre gaat het decoderen van zenders goed? Er staat me namelijk iets bij dat OpenSuse standaard geen of nauwelijks codecs ondersteund.

Wat ik je aanraad is om eerst even de restricted codecs toe te voegen en opnieuw te proberen.
Een eenvoudige mannier om deze codecs te installeren is via het one-click principe. Te vinden hier: http://opensuse-community.org/Restricted_Formats/10.3
Met de bovenstaande one-click mogelijkheid kun je ook meteen m-player installeren die ondersteuning biedt aan meerdere formaten. De standaard OpenSuse m-player ondersteunt maar een paar open/vrije codecs.

Na veel geklooi en uit eindelijk beeld via vlc, heb ik voor de gemakkelijk weg gekozen.... Ik heb Mytbuntu geinstalleerd (alles werkt out of the box), misschien dat ik het later nog eens probeer.
